While out going hard riding the new mountain bike this afternoon I came off again and probably from thinking I'm 10 and not 50.
Sure it does hurt when you have a spill at 50 but the risks of hurting myself once in a while is still worth getting out and going hard.
Today a group of 11 fellow mountain cyclists are taking a 2 hour drive and then riding 40klms off road.
This is my new Specialised Hardrock Sports 29er that I'm taking which has a large frame, extra wide handle bars, 29'' rims, 24 gears, disc & hydraulic brakes and also lock out forks for when the softer ride isnt required.
I was banded 11 months ago and with my type 2 diabetes in remission I now love the weekends and I'm always busy, for me busy is exercise without even thinking about exercising.
This morning I awoke at 5.00am and did 2 hours of house work and then finished mowing the lawn from during the week. I then took the trailer load of grass clippings to the local dump and returned with a load of crusher dust for the base of my shed before the concrete slabs are laid.
I'm about to go shovel the gravel into a wheelbarrow and fill in the base of my shed, I've estimated say 30 wheelbarrow loads then tommorow I can start making the mesh reinforced concrete slabs for the shed floor. I've already made the shed and since I'm using slabs for the floor there was no need to lay the floor before the rest of the shed was constructed.
I'm going to need to make 63 slabs and have already made edgings for 20 slabs in the carport and yesterday I had 2.5 meters of builders mix and 20 bags of cement delivered and I have a mates electric powered concrete mixer, I 'll make 20 slabs per weekend over the next 2 weeks and then lay them during my holidays in 4 weeks.
For those like me who now love getting outside and gettin busy here is some pictures of my build, this is my first ever blog so I'm hoping I've done it right.
