    Day surgery - 29th May

    Jay I would like to get to 70, not sure if I would want to go lower, will decide when I get there, but all I know is I have seen 104kgs for the last time!

    Jayali I was banded 11/04/14. I started optifast on 31/03 and in 50 days have lost almost 14kgs. I am 1/2kg away from being back in the 80's - I was say its been easier than I expected and as soon as I started to listen to my dietician things are going really well. The best part is thatI am am nor denying myself anything but also not really craving anything. I eat 4 small meals a day and try and make them healthy but have had chinese, nandos and mexican 😉

    Things that overweight people dread

    I had to laugh the one evening when my daughter (about 5 at the time) and I were having a bath, when I got out she started crying, so I asked her why she was crying and she replied that its not fair when i bath there is so much water (using her hand to show a high level of water) but when she baths there is so little water.... She didnt understand weight displacement or why the level of the water dropped so dramatically when I got out...😳ðŸ˜

    Feeling weak - Optifast phase

    Chunky my dietician told me that if I felt like I gad to eat something that I should stick to protein. Tuna or chicken should be fine.

    Day surgery - 29th May

    The night after my surgery I was in a fair bit of pain, I was annoyed that the nurses woke me every 2 or 3 hours to check vital signs and give me pain meds, but other than that if I was home I would just have slept. As long as your wounds dont looked infected and you have something for pain and you take it very easy and rest I would think you would be good.

    Jayali I had 4 cups of coffee a day (down from 8!) i gave up eating vegetables in exchange for 1 cup of milk a day. So dont stress you will be fine.

    Haysie clearly she didn't want to be confronted about WLS or reminded that there was actually something out there that could help her, she prefers to live in her bubble of denial. I don't think it is possible to be happy with yourself being so over weight. But good luck to her, hopefully she will realise her stupidity before she gets a stroke...

    Avoiding race day celebrations because I look pregnant in dresses Having a bath because its too difficult to get in/out Having a hubby who loves the outdoors but cant share things like hikes, kayaking etc with me Wearing high heels - my ankles swell at the slightest sign of a heel Going to sizzlers or other buffet style places wondering what people think of me Going hungry at a bbq instead of having a second helping Trying to not look too eager when snack platters are brought out Worried what my daughters friends think of her fat mother

    Nathan you are going well. Fluttershy, you should be fine at work. Oats for brekky and then lunch can be scrambled egg or cottage pie or yogurt or soup. I was only on mushies for 8 days. Good luck.

    Day after Op

    Optifast soup is fine, I had the chicken and corn one and my dietician just told me to train it so there wasn't any corn or parsley bits. And first appointment with surgeon at 6 weeks is pretty standard. Good luck with the recovery.

    Man I am sure I will still see a video of me on Aus funniest home movies doing zumba. I am fine if they stick to 1 or 2 moves but nooooooooo then they get technical and add stuff! They do 2 repetitions of 8 and when I finally have it figured out they change to something else!! 😳😜

    Portia I am sure there are others on here that would disagree with me, but for me I have to make my diet maintainable because if I go too extreme I will end up binging... I love timtams, but instead of eating half a packet at a time I bought a box that has dark, gooey or original snack packets and just have one of those... Takes the craving away and keeps me sane ☺ï¸

    Surgery on hold :(

    Fortunately my surgery happened so fast there was no time for a phsych visit. I have decided not to go after surgery either. I dont see the point (for me) to pay someone to tell me what I already know... Newbie I hope you get it sorted but I would ask for a second consult/opinion
