Hi Henrywashere I was banded in October and get what you mean. I have never felt full like OMG I've eaten too much. I don't think I'll ever feel like that. I have 5.5 mls in and really don't think I could have any more restriction. I have an appointment tomorrow and I am going to ask about it. Milly 😉

    Surgery Dec 1st!

Hi Tanya, I was banded on 20th October by the lovely Prof O'Brien. I was really questioning myself beforehand and wondered if I'd actually go to the hospital !! I did and so far it's been great. Just going through the fill stages at the moment, have had two since surgery for a total of 5.5 mls. I was really afraid of vomiting up food but that has not happened so far- fingers crossed. After yesterday's fill I actually feel restriction now where before not so much. The first few weeks are about recovery and then filling till you get to the right point. The scales aren't always your friend either- go more by how your clothes feel etc . Best of luck on your journey Milly x

Pretty good Mel I've started exercising a lot this week as I'm not liking the scales already! Despite eating much less they aren't going down much but I'm sure it will happen once I get a fill next week... I'm using my fitness pal every day which is great to keep each of the three meals at around 300calories... Where are you on the list ? Or you may have been done already !?!? Best wishes and we look forward to hearing how u went Milly x

A lot of surgeons and anaesthetists let you keep your nails on these days as they are so common! Enjoy the pampering from your hubby though Mumma Poss! ☺ï¸

I went back this week and ate things like cruskits with tuna, omelette, opti shake, a banana ..... I told a few people as I was conscious of eating really slowly and them noticing plus I am a nurse so I think it's easier working in that field to tell people. You could of course eat soups and yoghurt easily but that kind of defeats the purpose of the band.... If we are supposed to wait one whole minute after swallowing it's hard to hide those looooooong pauses! So many of the people I have told know of someone else who've had it done 😄

Hi Zendaya, I feel so much better now! Was painful to burp but not much else bothered me aside from the anaesthetic nausea. The wounds were never painful, I didn't need any pain killers it was just uncomfortable more than anything, and my stomach growled a lot from not eating!

Mumma Poss and Zendaya although I didn't have to do opti pre surgery I've had it before and still have the chocolate shakes now and love them. It's weird I remember at first I had to block my nose to drink one but something happens to your taste buds and I think a lot of people find they are ok. I hate the ones that say "New formula / new recipe" make sure it's the original pack always have about 250 mls water and chill it in freezer after you shake it.... Worth a try anyway ! Keep up the good work. After day 3 usually feel better xx

Hi tiffanynco! You are so welcome we can all help each other. I need your advice, I was banded on the 20th and just moved from liquids to transition phase and I'm a bit afraid I'll get something stuck! What sort of less liquidy things did you try first? Milly x

Best of luck to you all. I'm 8 days post op and feeling soooo much better. I can now burp without any pain and have taken down all of my dressings. I actually felt my port for the first time! Started mushy foods today- bit scary but what I ate went well. XX
