Your pre- WLS life - and am I worthy?

Hey @Casey81 I'm in Perth and was out of pocket around $9140 for sips surgery.

    May 2018 sleevers and bypassians

Size 14 NSV including size 14 jeans from Valley Girl. How nice to walk into a shop like that and not only fit into things I actually want but have sales assistants not looking down at me and actually be friendly. Sizing definitely varies as I tried 2 pairs of jeans. The hipster ones fit but didn't do up but the ones I bought which are more of a high waisted fit were perfect. I will weigh in tomorrow and update as I had a tiny loss today but forgot to record it so can't remember my weight lol Also people aren't recognising me including my own dad who sees me regularly. He saw a video of me with my daughter and wanted to know why the teacher was doing the colour run holding my daughter's hand. He didn't realise it was me.

    Non Scale Victories (NSVs)

Size 14 jeans from Valley Girl! Omg to walk in and buy something I actually like (jeans ripped at the knees) and also not have snobby sales assistants because of my size is incredible. Also went to the zoo today and no pain from all the walking. Last time I was not only 6 months pregnant but also morbidly obese and I was in agony, bad tempered because everything hurt and couldn't enjoy myself.

Hey Bigm666 I found the wait went fast BUT I did fall pregnant unexpectedly and had my gorgeous little boy so I was pretty focused on pregnancy. I had my op when he was 6 months old. Also I know it's not Wednesday but can I say I am now 84.7kgs with just 29.9kgs left to lose. I am thrilled. My pre pregnancy weight before my weight issues started was 68kgs. It seems so in reach now. I'm enjoying the journey I'm happy even though I'm not at my goal and I carry myself differently. I hope everyone else is going well no matter which stage of your journey you are at.

    May 2018 sleevers and bypassians

I just realised I'm 18.7kgs away from my pre pregnancy weight before my first child and before my weight problem started. It seems very surreal. One of the nurses at the doctors didn't recognise me. The doctor came in to see me and said he could see a huge difference.

So my birthday goal was to be 90kgs or less. Today (my birthday) I'm 87.3kgs. I'm now in sizes 14 - 16 and can fit an XL at Ice Design one of my favourite shops.

    Non Scale Victories (NSVs)

So I'm getting in my 10000 steps but generally a lot more on work days. Yesterday we took the train to the city and I normally get really sore from all the walking but I didn't get any pain and I ended up doing over 12000 steps yesterday. I even ran while racing my daughter (will not do that without a sports bra!) Also I'm now in size 14s and it's actual work pants with a zip and hook not stretchy leggings. Feeling amazing and couldn't be happier.

    Weigh In Wednesday

I know it's not Wednesday but I made my birthday goal and it's not the 22nd yet. My goal was to be 90kgs or less and I'm 89.6kgs this morning. I'm finding it hard to believe I'm in the 80s.

    August 2018 surgeries

Hey, the needing to pee thing for me is so normal after ANY surgery. Even when I was only sipping very small amounts I was still up and down heaps to pee. Keep sipping it's important to stay hydrated and your bladder will settle.

Thanks @CarolC I think the best change of all is the fact I have my confidence and self esteem back despite not being at goal weight yet. That is the best change of all to feel good about myself and happy with how I look.

    May 2018 sleevers and bypassians

I'm now in Obese Category 1 class down from morbidly obese. I do a minimum of 10000 steps work days but generally anything from 12000 to 16000. I take the stairs every time except when I have the food trolley. Getting up the stairs is now easier. I also don't feel like I'm dying at the end of my shift. 27.4kgs gone and 35.9kgs left to lose. Hope everyone else is well, I love reading the updates.

    Weigh In Wednesday

Thanks @denzel I expected the weight loss to be slower as I was told sips patients lose slower but more over the long term and I will lose for 2 years. I'm actually slightly worried I may end up too thin if there's such a thing lol

    Weigh In Wednesday

90.8kgs today and down from morbidly obese to obese class 1. Bmi 45 to 34.6 800 grams to my second "big" goal which was to be 90kgs or less for my birthday on August 22nd. I'm going to make it!

    Goal Weight

I had the craziest goal in mind to be 90kgs or less for my bday (August 22nd) and I'm going to make it! As of yesterday I was 91.9kgs. I can't believe how fast this is all happening. I was told to expect slower weight loss with sips. It's slower but you lose more in the long term. At this rate there's a possibility I might end up too skinny because I was told I'll be losing weight for 2 years then start to stabilise.

    Weigh In Wednesday

I missed weigh in Wednesday! I did weigh myself yesterday and I'm 92.6kgs. I'm finally less than my husband. Rushing to get ready for work hope everyone else is going well.

    Update

Amazing results! I don't do exercise because I get in 10000 steps or more on work days as it's a 2 story building so climbing the stairs multiple times, lots of walking, etc. I've found lots of us have weird periods post op from the fb support pages. I had the Depo shot and had my period. 3 weeks later I got it again and it lasted over 2 weeks. I had to get blood tests and ultrasound done to rule out any problems. Luckily nothing for around 3 weeks now. Do you find you feel the cold more? I definitely do and you mentioned summer, I hope I can handle the heat better.
