  1. Weight gain is depressing :(

But congratulations on having two babies!

It might be worthwhile a visit back to your surgeon, maybe they used larger bougies 6 years ago? And s a resleeve would be tenable.

I'm 4 years post op next month, and I still use portion controlled crockery and tiny cutlery.  I also mainly do a low carb way of eating (except for the past week!).

    All the best!

  2. I'm hoping that everyone had a very enjoyable Christmas as I did  :).

I got my days mixed up and weighed myself yesterday instead of today - 47.99 kg, down 740 gm in six days!  BMI 20.36

I had to fast last Wednesday for the gastroscopy, and didn't eat much that day.  The results weren't good. "Severe ulcerative reflux oesophagitis", and a 3cm hiatus hernia which hadn't shown up on the barium swallow. The gastroenterologist showed me the photos - they were ugly, really ugly.

Anyway, I made up for not eating much all week, yesterday.  I spent the day eating!  Heaps of seafood and fruit.  Yum!

  4. Well, it's Weigh in Wednesday and today I am about 48.3 kg, BMI 20.5, body fat % 24.3

Off to see my Bariatric surgeon today (he wants to see me).  I have developed oesophogeal motility problems, "Mild to moderate dysmobility with variable hold up at the gastro-oesophageal junction, but no fixed stricture/obstruction .  The gastric sleeve remnant appears somewhat capacious".

  5. Thanks  @CarolC

I had heaps of excess skin following my initial weight loss, and had plastic reconstructive surgery back in 2015  (in my blog :) ).  I would desperately like to get my thighs done.

  6. Wow!  What a journey!

Thank you for an honest, accountable update.   I totally agree with all points (although for me I do exercise - yes, walking only, but briskly and for a reasonable time, and I have dogs :) = get me out walking ).

When I went through Cymbalta Withdrawal, I could and eat everything in sight. It frightened me how much I could eat. I put on 8 kg in 7 months.  Went back on Cymbalta for nerve pain, (but as a bonus it has an appetite suppressant effect on me) and I have slowly lost 6.2 kg over this year.

Over the last month I have developed functional problems with my oesophagus (dysmobility) diagnosed by a real time barium swallow.   It was also noted that my gastric  sleeve remnant is somewhat "capacious".  I took that to mean 'roomy'.  A Dr friend of mine said that "was radiological speak for large and floppy" :(  .  My bariatric surgeon wants to see me, and I am guessing that I shall also have to see a Gastroenterologist.

Wishing you all the best for the future!

  7. 1 hour ago, zaruse said:

NSV- first flight since losing a decent amount of weight: seatbelt had so much tail I couldn’t believe it!

Before surgery I was always too embarrassed to ask for an extension, so the buckle was always right at the end and sometimes uncomfortably snug.

Plus I didn’t feel like I was taking up more space than I’d paid for. (Although I’m still broad- can’t do anything about that)

    yay!

@zaruse, that is wonderful!  Congratulations and very well done :) .

  8. From Monday (I had a GP appointment and knew that she would want to know what I weighed) , down 540 gm to 48.6 kg, body fat % 23.8, hydration 51.4 %, BMI 20.6

She doesn't want me to lose anymore weight,  she says that I am at the lower end of a healthy  BMI  - I don't think that she knows that the lower end has dropped to a BMI of 18.5 - but I'd like to get back to my "happy weight" of 46-47 kg.
