    Weigh In Wednesday

I'm booked in for a gastroscopy next Wednesday with a Gastroenterologist. Will weigh in that am!

Well, it's Weigh in Wednesday and today I am about 48.3 kg, BMI 20.5, body fat % 24.3 Off to see my Bariatric surgeon today (he wants to see me). I have developed oesophogeal motility problems, "Mild to moderate dysmobility with variable hold up at the gastro-oesophageal junction, but no fixed stricture/obstruction . The gastric sleeve remnant appears somewhat capacious".

    Weigh In Wednesday

Thanks @CarolC I had heaps of excess skin following my initial weight loss, and had plastic reconstructive surgery back in 2015 (in my blog ). I would desperately like to get my thighs done. Wow! What a journey! Thank you for an honest, accountable update. I totally agree with all points (although for me I do exercise - yes, walking only, but briskly and for a reasonable time, and I have dogs = get me out walking ). When I went through Cymbalta Withdrawal, I could and eat everything in sight. It frightened me how much I could eat. I put on 8 kg in 7 months. Went back on Cymbalta for nerve pain, (but as a bonus it has an appetite suppressant effect on me) and I have slowly lost 6.2 kg over this year. Over the last month I have developed functional problems with my oesophagus (dysmobility) diagnosed by a real time barium swallow. It was also noted that my gastric sleeve remnant is somewhat "capacious". I took that to mean 'roomy'. A Dr friend of mine said that "was radiological speak for large and floppy" . My bariatric surgeon wants to see me, and I am guessing that I shall also have to see a Gastroenterologist. Wishing you all the best for the future!

    Weigh In Wednesday

From Monday (I had a GP appointment and knew that she would want to know what I weighed) , down 540 gm to 48.6 kg, body fat % 23.8, hydration 51.4 %, BMI 20.6 She doesn't want me to lose anymore weight, she says that I am at the lower end of a healthy BMI - I don't think that she knows that the lower end has dropped to a BMI of 18.5 - but I'd like to get back to my "happy weight" of 46-47 kg.

I think I've lost my spot on the waitlist.

I guess you'll know today after you have contacted them? Can you update us later please? Wishing you all the best.
  9. Just wondering - have you ever looked into a low FODMAP diet and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)? And - if you have ever been pregnant - "pelvic congestion syndrome"? I have a sleeved friend/buddy who has gone to hell with reflux. Turns out that she had a problem PRE-SLEEVE with reflux . She had a basic repair of a hiatus hernia when she had her sleeve done Jan 2015, and has recently had to have done a more extensive repair. She also has severely increased reflux with foods in the night shade family. This - "night shade family" may be worth while you investigating. Also, just wondering if you have been checked out for a hiatus hernia? Maybe a barium swallow right now could be a good idea? What you are going through, IMHO , is not "normal" post sleeve-gastrectomy.

  12. Hello fellow "Duck Disease" (bum closer to the ground) member! I am shorter than you lol! A stunning - stretch myself - 153.5 cm lol! Between the ages of 15-31 (1978- 1994) I probably went from about 45 kg to about 57 kg. At my all time heaviest I weighed 82.5 kg - a BMI of 35.X I THOUGHT that I was "doing the right thing" i.e.high carb low fat diet. I have no regrets having had a gastric sleeve surgery. Re cooking - I am much more focused on creating and cooking healthy home cooked food using basic ingredients now that I am post-gastric sleeve than I was prior. I follow a LCHF (Low Carb Healthy Fat) WOE (Way of Eating) . I have friends here in WA who are into competitive Dragon Boat Racing, so can relate . Re loose skin? I had had many years of my poor skin being stretched etc until it couldn't bounce back anymore (maybe you'd like to check out my blog on Plastic Reconstructive Surgery? *Note* graphic pics are included.) I would DESPERATELY like to get get my thighs done - they "tsunami" around when I am fast walking. I have NO regrets about having a Gastric Sleeve done. Nor do I have any regrets about having reconstructive surgery after. All the best!

    May 2018 sleevers and bypassians

I have loose flesh bulging out of my bra under my arms . I could do with an upper body lift. I have already had a "360" (abdominoplasty + belt lipectomy) and arm lifts. I need thigh lifts as the flesh "tsunamis" around when I am walking - and I am a fast walker - which is uncomfortable. But I need a good win on the Lotto to get this done. I would also like to have a breast lift, but this is lower in priority than my thighs. At my heaviest I had a BMI of 35.X, and at my post-sleeve/gastric infection lightest a BMI of 17.X. So a drop of 18 BMI. If you want to read about my plastic reconstructive surgery check out my blog. Please be warned - it contains graphic pics.

    ENDOSCOPIC SLEEVE

having problems now "tagging" folks in. There are now folks with "Endoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy". Can I humbly suggest that you contact these folk? Re Gastric Sleeve, as long as you meet the criteria of a BMI of 30 +, + obesity related health disorders e.g. sleep apnoea. high blood pressure, Type 2 Diabetes etc; you should be covered.
