so itsnow 4 days since having my band removed, still feeling tender like i have done hundreds of situps! each day is getting easir to move although its painful to cough and when i breath deeply, plus i still feel bandy but taking it easy starting solids again. not really felt starving hungry yet so thats a plus.
9 weeks to wait now till i go in for sleeve.

Sammy1491 I would urge you get it checked out by your gp or your surgeon if you get an appointment quickly, my thoughts on doing it all at once? I very much wanted mine done all at once but with and research and reading I think having the two procedures is much safer in the long run. but please be awake that even with the wait and hernia repair there is still a possibility things could go wrong. like with all surgery there is always a risk, do lots of reading and research and be sure about if that's the path you want to go.
Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time Laptosleeve17, I was considering doing my procedure all at the same the time, I have just had my band removed after 6years and putting back on all of what I lost. my doc initially said that as he did band he could do it all at the same time but, there were a lot more possible complications this was about 2 yrs ago I was exploring this option, but after plodding along for another year or so I decided to have band out then wait the two months to have sleeve. so this is where I am at the moment, still sore after 4 days and still feeling a little "bandy". my reasons for wanting it all done at once were more a time factor as I have two small kids and husband who works full time and he will need to take time off to look after kids when I have sleeve done. but for me thinking back on it now this was the better choice for me and our family. although there are still risks with doing sleeve after a band they are a less than doing it all at once. that is my biggest worry about having sleeve done, is the possibility of a leave and being in hospital for so long. I hope you are now on the mend and out of danger and making a good recovery. glad to hear that you are around a group of people who have been in a similar situation to you.

Hi all  finally getting my band out after about 6 years with lots of ups and downs with it.
I am very much looking forward to life without the band and freedom to eat proper food and not sliders, even if it is only for 8 weeks! going to have sleeve done in November, so hopefully this will be last WLS and can get this under control and start living a happy healthy life again.

so next Wednesday the 20th sept is the first of my up coming big days, finally getting my band out after 6 years of ups and downs with it. had 2mils taken out a about a month ago and have already noticed a weight increase. I will really  have to be mindful of what goes into my mouth, i am not far off my banded weight 6 years ago so I guess you could say I am right back where I start.
but in those 6 years I have gotten married and had two babies. I will be glad once it comes out and I can move forward by eating normally again for a month or so then look forward to having sleeve done in November . THIS REALLY WILL BE THE LAST WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY I WILL HAVE !
Any advise form fellow ex bandits on in between stage is much welcomed.

Thanks missash i have been thinking about out now for awhile lady year i was in two minds about it but now i know it is the right decision for me.  My husband is vey supportive but not so sure about rest of family. not told them yet! Im 39 and have two kids but sometimes you still dread telling parents these things! They didn't want me to have band in 6 yrs ago so  they totally will not like this decision, but i am all grown up now capable of making my own decisions. I think even if you don't like people's choices u can still be supportive in that choice but not like it if that makes sense?

Thanks kazbo i am very much looking forward to eat things like raw carrot apples pears etc and a nice steak! Even if it is only for a few months. I am tired of this roller coaster of loss and gain. Almost put back on all of what i lost 5yrs ago. Mind you in these  past three yrs i have had two babies!

Hi all just wondering how your experience was going from band to sleeve? I am having mine out next month then sleeve in November all being done by dr Dolan whom put in my band.
Having so many issues with band of late and am totally over it! was great in the beginning but 6yrs on its not working.
Has anyone been sleeved at a low banned weight? Currently sitting at 88kgs which i know will go up one removed. How was your  journey the good the bad and the ugly please!
I know this is the right choice for me and out had not be made lightly.
    Cheers for your comments.

Thanks Kazbo and Nessa1977. I am waiting the 9 weeks between procedures my doc has minimum 8 weeks wait. So band out next month then november for sleeve. I did realise that weight loss won't be as rapid as virgin sleeve but that's ok with me. Doc talked about other procedures but said this is the next step. I really don't want tho do bypass for me i think that is too extreme. Like i said before i would be happy at 65kgs if i don't get that much off then in high 60's low 70's is still good.  Thanks for your feed back ladies.
Also had unfill today so now i only have 3ml in band don't know if this helps not being so restricted before it comes out.
