    Surgery scheduled April 2017

It is now 6 weeks post op had my first fill last week with the next one scheduled for 24 May I have not had any issues and now am 8 kg lighter. In some way I am waiting for the restrictions to start. I have changed my food intact and still have not eaten any chocolate bread or potatoes and have not had any craving for them. Having a Fit bit keeps me moving and average 10,000 steps i find myself sitting at my desk at work and get a vibration hourly to remind me to move.

Update Now 20 days post op. No issues all running smoothly. My weakness was chocolate - biscuits - cake & bread I have not eaten any since surgery, with the exception that today I did have a piece of cake. For a very good reason - it was to celebrate that today i was told that I am now 5 years post bowel cancer - and all clear no cancer - no more 6 monthly check ups. So I can tie a bow around that little life challenge. Move onto this new challenge of weight loss. Since surgery i have lost 5.3 kg and am now on week 3 food (casserole style ) Pre-surgery i was not exercising - lucky to do 2,000 steps a day - this week have achieved 10,000 four out of five days. Purchased a fit bit to help me remain focused. Thank you for asking, i have been very lucky no real pain more discomfort. I purchased the Sally Johnston Complete Guide to Nutrition book, so have found that to be excellent resource. My Dr's advice was 1 week fluid, (fit thru straw) 1 week smooth pureed (can be cut by side of fork), 1 week casserole consistany. I have then my first return visit and possible first fill. I have been reading on this site regularly and it is good to know that every ones journey is different - as i have none of the pain , tiredness. I know this will not be ongoing but it has been an encouraging start. I am doing as told by Dr and have taken leave til Wednesday (good timing) as only back for two days then Easter.

Just banded! Would Love some food tips!!

Hi i had my band (secret bander) in 3 April. There two resources recommended frequently on this forum i ordered Sally Johnston Complete Guide to Nutrition book (only took 3 days delivery to Tas) i have made some excellent soups which i blitz in nutrabullet . The other is books available from Portion Perfection. Check them out. I am returning to work tomorrow (office work so not strenuous) figuring this gòod because only back two days then Easter. Good luck with your journey.

    Newbie here - extremely nervous.

Morning best of luck for today. I had band on Monday
  5. Had my band on Monday 3/4 Home today. As i am choosing to be silent bander Dr ageed i could taxi home (only 7 minute ride). Feeling great seeing surgeon in 3 weeks to review and hopefully start the fill. I was pleasantly suprise that there so little after surgery pain a little uncomfortable but manageable. This maybe because even though I have had 4 surgeries on the abdomen area and there was no scaring that need attending to whislt they inserted the band. My journey start today

Hobart Dr Tony P i had my appointment today with surgery booked for 3 April. I am 60 and 162cm tall 105 kg. Would love hear from others that have had their surgery with TP. Also would like to hear from those that are early post op. I am very excited to finally have the surgery book. Was just looking through photos gallery and noted a number people commented they wish they had taken before photos. As someone who hates having photos taken i am going to do it anyway. . So i have an opportunity to see my progress
