Sorry to hijack but I'm talking to others who are going through WLS and they have told me that Medicare Will give some money back for the surgery out of pocket i had never heard of that before. One lady got $1100 back off Medicare after WLS.....

6 months and 46kgs but is that including pre op weight loss? Still that's great roughly 8kgs a month. Definitely can't complain.. What's your routine like in terms of exercise and diet do you still take protein shakes. Tnx

    Weigh In Wednesday

I've a dilemma I want to lose weight but if I lose it before my operation in 10months I'll no longer be able to qualify for bypass. I know how to lose weight that's not the issue. Its long term weight management that I know I'll get from that new bypass they do as it stops me from absorbing much calories and to curb cravings.... I'm down 1kg ( after a couple days) by just upping my protein intake each day... So its a catch22 because I don't want to gain anymore at the same time I can't lose much without being out of the obese BMI In order to qualify for WLS...

    Weigh In Wednesday

Hi there it's more about height than age but for reference my mum is 56 and about 160cm and i think her best weight is i think 75kgs so i think right now your weight is spot on at 75 kgs ! As i said above the bmi tells me to be 62-85 which i know for a fact that 85 is perfect for me and that i may even go to 90kgs with some muscle growth with weight training once i do lose all my weight again.

    Weigh In Wednesday

Yeah I just did my bmi for peace of mind I'm at 42 bmi and the result says Your suggested healthy weight range 62.6 - 84.3kg but I know for a fact my perfect weight range is 80-90 so the top of the bmi range. In 2012 I actually got down to 85 and that was perfect! But after a year or so due to depression and other factors I went right back to 130+ and now I'm at 145kgs and decided my best chance for long term success is the ruen y bypass which I've got to wait 11more months as I only just decided to go with PHI.

BMI isn't the best it doesn't take into account bone structure 70 KGS is fine

    OPTIFAST VS OPTISLIM

Hey guys I'm very curious why are we being told specifically to use optifast only?? Also is it just two weeks preop all food is just optifast nothing else? And then a few weeks post op liquid only is that also optifast or soups etc I'm hoping to go full bypass next yr

Thnx how long were you on pre op total 15kgs that seems insane to me? Yes I believe doing some kind of weights will help with the loose skin issues I assume you're 1984; like me what operation did you have ? Have you continued with optifast long term or some kind of protein shakes? I'm looking at going full bypass

Just look at all the work you've done that's the main thing... Curious is the excess weight surgery skin tuck etc included in the original gastric surgery or is it a whole other surgery you will have to fund yourself or does the PHI help with it I'm very curious... I know I'll probably have to get into weight training quickly so that i don't get too much excess skin myself but i think men have an easier time with it than women i think Eileen end up with more maybe because of the male genes and muscles because i remember when i did lose 40kgs back in 2012 the skin was not an issue really i mainly need and want the bypass to help ensure longevity!!

How long til the surgeons cut you loose?

Hello did it take 11 months to lose 46kgs or did you have moments of fluctuations or plateaus. Most people I know lose at a rate of about 1.5kg a week? Just curious

Wow you are doing amazing I've still got to wait a year roughly had alot happen recently include moving house but much happier now... finally signed up for the PHI so I'm now committed its just a long wait 12 months ive gone up to 145kgs so I've gotta be careful the next year not to go up too much because I'm giving myself a 12 month timeframe from the operation to lose everything i need which from 145 i need to get below 200lbs(90kgs) top be under 100kgs and 200lbs...so that's roughly 60kgs loss needed in 12 months which i see is quite achievable it's just a matter of changing my whole mind frame and diet and exercise. But i know i need to do this to extend my life no way will i be 40 and still be obese!!! Thank you everyone for your inspiration!!
