Hi there. I'm based in Western Australia and I have been on the public health waiting list for Joondalup hospital for a whule. They first saw me in February 2019 and again in May 2019 and said to expect 12 to 18 months. Since May 2019 I have gained an extra 13 kgs. I initially lost 10 kgs trying to diet before they saw me only to gain that and more back so I went to the gym and went on walks frequently. I severely injured my left leg December last year preventing me from exercise, time off work, couldnt even drive for a couple months. I piled on more weight. I'm 5'6, 24 years old and I weighed 107 kgs at my last Joondalup weigh-in and now I'm 120 kgs. I'm freaking out. I go back to work in a couple weeks, I am a supervisor in fast food. I Also suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I'm trying so hard to kick my habits but I have no idea when Joondalup will schedule an appointment and the weight doesn't want to move. My mother had the sleeve last year and has been very pushy and rather negative about it and said I need to get it this year, and I really don't see that happening with the way things are now. My weight has blown up a lot. When I was 14 I was 60 kgs so my weight has doubled in 10 years. How much time would I have left if they saw me in May last year? I havent heard anything since then. I can't really afford going the private health route for the sleeve so this is my only chance.
