  1. Thanks Steph, it's really quite disheartening when you get so far then gain again... But I WILL DO IT>.. I Have too!!! How much fill did you get? Whats your eating like now? Nic
  2. Hi Everyone, So I'd like to think I'm not alone here, but over the past year due to several issues arising and having to have surgery. I had to get my band loosened and have gone from being 80kg back to 90kg.... 10 KG GAIN... !!! So fricking dissapointed. Well as of tomorrow I am finally getting a fill. I have felt like I haven't had a lapband for the past 6 months and have realised how much I needed it in the first place. I am going to be asking the surgeon to put at least 1.5-2ml in tomorrow I know this is going to seem like a lot but considering I feel like I don't even have a band I'd rather go tight and resort back to liquids for a few weeks. Has anyone every had this happen? How did you recover / get back on track and reach goal... My sister is getting married in January. Mostly I'd like to shed the extra weight by Xmas though, so I've re-joined the Gym and have a personal Trainer on Mondays, Body Pump Wed and cardio/weights Fri. Also when I can I will ride my bike to work and walk everywhere possible... May be a little difficult as my 3 year old has just broken his shin last weekend but am trying everything in my power. If anyone has any advise please share Thank you in advance xx

    Tummy tuck Dr Mark Moore

Hi ladies, Thank you all for your responses... I've gone a little backwards though had some health problems earlier in the year and due to surgery i needed I had to get my band loosened... I'm pretty upset as I've now gained almost 10kg (just goes to show how much I needed my band in the first place I guess).. But as of tomorrow I will finally get some fill put back in and am quite tempted to ask for at least 1.5-2ml and just go back to liquids and re-educate myself on being banded. Sometimes I think I should have got gastric sleeve but all in all I have still lost 47kg albeit over 3 years. I can and will make my band work for me again. Has anyone else ever had gain and then got back on top and reached goal?? So with regards to Tummy Tuck I'm hoping next year!!

    argh! gallbladder pain/gallstones!

My Advice.... Don't Delay either... I had all the same symptoms but thought it was my band.. too tight I was wrong... Had severe pain, I turned Yellow and was put straight into hospital the day I saw my surgeon at the time they only did an ERCP and removed a stone that was "Causing the pain apparently". 8 Days later I was admitted to hospital exactly 5 mins in emergency then had 5 shots of morphine the pain was that bad.. I had surgery that afternoon to remove my gallbladder which was extremely inflammed and infected had actually made me septic.. The surgeons couldn't believe how sick I was or that I'd travelled ( I jumped on a plane from Adelaide to Darwin I had my 3 year old with me and no one to look after him,.....The things we can deal with when we put our children first. ) the way I did. I also needed to have 2 blood transfusions.. I was in a very very bad way. All better now though pleased to say. Like I said Don't Delay!! Best of luck to you xx

Need some tips to get re-motivated....

    Ohh I like that idea
  6. Hi All, This is me asking for tips/help/advice..... I've had a rough trot in these past 5 months, I got very sick had my band loosened A LOT, was in hospital 3 times, finally had gallbladder removed only to find at the time I was that sick my body had become septic, 2 blood transfusions later I was discharged from hospital only to have to be readmitted 5 days later as I was experiencing all the same pain from before....Abcess!! Can you believe? Anyway all cleared and feeling a lot better, my down side is I've put on 8KG!! Still waiting to get my band re-filled... I only have 4.75mls in at the moment which means my band feels non existant... Anyway... I need some tips on how to stay motivated when I get my fill this week... I'm trying to retrain my brain that it's all new again but having a little trouble .. Appreciate any advice Nicole
  7. Hi all Just wondering if anyone has had there gallbladder removed with lapband and how long did you wait after surgery before getting a fill? My lapband surgeon loosened my band due to severe pain before my gall bladder was removed and I haven't had it tightened yet I've been trying to have will power to stick to good healthy foods but because I've not been going to the gym now for sometime I've gained almost 6 kgs... I need my band tightened desperately next Saturday have an appointment but I think this has just made me realise all over again why I needed my band in the first place.

    For the Working Mums

Hi Leanne, Firstly Good luck with your interview!! I went back to work for 2 days a week when my son was only 3 months old. ( I kinda had to so that I received the rest of what was owed to me for my parental leave). I then resigned. I know that's bad form but my returning position as assistant front office manager in a hotel, I could not and refused to do the hours they wanted me to do with a newborn at home. I then waited until my son was 15 months old before returning part time to work. Again in hotels but this time in reservations and only worked 3 days a week 7-3 so good hours. I felt sooooo Guilty about leaving my son in day care. But it definately had it's advantages. Firstly, at 15 months old although pulling himself up on things and holding against walls etc to walk he couldn't walk on his own yet, after just 2 weeks in day care so 6 days he was walking :) Secondly the social interaction he has learnt with other children is brillant, he has little friends and understands sharing etc. Now at almost 3 he will be in preschool this year, he knows the ABC's can count to 20, knows all his colours, talks really well I could go on and on.. In the end I realised I needed the Me time back at work, albiet needing the money it was a nice respite. I know the time I spend with my son is quality time, I do not feel like a bad mother, and I know my son loves me. As for your work understanding if you take a sick day if your child is sick, most employers I have worked for, I have found are really understanding. It's not like you just chuck a sickie and use your child as an excuse. I had day care actually ring my work once as my son injured himself (don't let that turn you off daycare..... He is a boy with no fear whatsoever) and they couldnt get me out of the office fast enough. I really wish you the best of luck Leanne. and please feel free to msg me if you have anything else you want to ask... Happy to help.. Good luck again. Nicole

    Is this normal?

Hi Muffinchops, It is different for everyone the whole banding process. What I can only suggest from experience and what you've shared is that perhaps you need to get more fill put in to increase your restriction. STOP Binging.... Not meaning to sound rude or pushy, I have been there and it is a bad way to set your self up especially at the beginning, be sure you are eating 3 meals a day. Try hard not to snack but definately excercise even if its a slow walk around the block... (when I first got banded it took me 45 minutes to walk 1km) I can only encourage you to make sure you do some excericse each day and remind your self when you go to binge... I got a lapband to lose weight... Not to binge I hope this helps in some way. xx
