Stabilisation - Now its time to move again.

Hi guys Sorry a bit late in checking in, busy week at work and a birthday for me. Which can easily be read as chocolate, chippies and other misc crap being stuffed in my hole at inappropriate times. Upshot is 67.7, so down 100g, and I have no idea after the boozing and eating I did in QLD last weekend, where I ate the biggest oysters I have ever seen and they were delish. At this stage of the year I will be happy if I can consistently stay below 68 until the new year, although will be starting on the shakes for dinner next week just to even it all out. cheers all and have a great week.

I was 67.8, so up 400g on last week and nowhere near as bad as I thought, so being good on Monday and Tuesday redeemed me a tad I think. I am off to Brisvegas for the weekend so lots of eating and drinking so prob a shocker next week too. I think think any amount of salad is going to fix it haha

I have done up a spreadsheet of the Nutritional Value of off the shelf shakes other than Optifast if anyone wants me to send them a copy. I didnt do Optifast as they taste bloody awful to me.
  7. Apparently Dr Oz has been saying that this is a new revolutionary product to assist in weight loss. Just wondering if anyone has given it a go, or should I be the guinea pig, lol.

Stabilisation - Now its time to move again.

Morning all. I am here for my weigh in. I have to admit that yesterday all I ate was half piece sourdough for brekkie and a tuna triangle of sandwich in the arvo. It was Remembrance Day and as an ex service woman I attending the services, so food wasn't in the forefront of my brain and since I drank copious amounts of beer and wine, just forgot to eat. As a result I think my weigh in is "light on". Anywho to get to the point, my weigh in this morning was 67.3, so just a smidge over a kg gone since last week.

Stabilisation - Now its time to move again.

Hi All I know this is a bit premature ahead of Wednesday weigh in but I was just so damn excited that I had to share. We to my Dr this morning and I have lost 5kg since my last visit in April. I was so chuffed when the first words out of his mouth were " Well you are looking slim" ....SLIM? SLIM? I can't remember the last time anyone ever used that word to describe me. And to think of all the foods that I stuffed in my face on Saturday. I can assure you there was not a shake in sight, except for the one I did when I excitedly had a pizza on Friday. Ok back to work and my handful of almonds. Will be back to weigh n on Wednesday. I hope you all have a great one, I am so on a high right now.

Hey Kaz, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about and I believe it is a combo of the shakes and not having enough fibre in there to push it all out. My Dr has now put me on Benefibre and I have 2 teaspoons of a morning in my tea and 2 teaspoons of a night, usually in herbal tea and I haven't had that horrid pain since. Prior to this I was using Senna (?) Soft and that gave me the awful wind pains. If you are going to get it, the cheapest place is The Chemist Warehouse for $16.99 for a kick ass sized jar. I always buy 2 as I would hate to run out. And nah, not TMI, that is what we are all here for, to help each other out

Well just to keep this thread going, I had another great day today and my only slip up was a glass of wine at a meeting tonight. This is good for me as I can easily sit down to a whole bottle. I feel different this time around like I actually am keen to make it work. Usually if I have a glass out, I will come home and open a bottle and then fall into bed. Instead tonight I came home and am having a herbal tea. I better not tell anyone, they will wonder what is wrong with me, haha. Good luck all and keep coming back and posting, if not only to keep yourself motivated, but for the amusement and support of others

Good job everyone. I had a great day and stuck to my plan and feel fantastic and full of energy. You tend to forget how bad crap food makes you feel Onwards and upwards

Morning all My starting weight this morning is 68.4kg. Was too disorganised to make a shake at home so having a cup of tea for brekkie and an Up and Go. Will be having pea and ham soup for lunch and a delicious fresh fruit and protein smoothie for dinner. Decided that I probably could make it a day if I didn't ease into it. Good luck to all and don't forget to post your start figure each Wednesday.

I too will join starting on Wednesday. I have been fortunate enough to have recently had my momentum go again after stalling for most of the year and am now aiming to lose 5kg every year. I know that isn't a great amount but I know that that is a number that I can achieve. - I am now smack bang in the range the Dr wants (68-69kg) and am finally happy to go to my appointment next Monday. However, despite his joy I still feel flabby and would dearly love to crack the 65kg mark, which is a number I haven't seen in at least 10 years. I was as of this morning after pigging and drinking all weekend 68.8kg. I too will start Wednesday weigh ins as they are a better reflection, mainly as I regard Sundays as my "free" day and the scales on a Monday are a hideous reminder of my naughtiness, lol. Good luck to all and may the shakes be with you!

    Judgement Over Portion Sizes

When people make comments, it would be quite fine to say back "Well 85kg down thinks that I am doing just fine", that would certainly make them think. I had a woman at work call me a garbage guts the other day. I could have slapped her. Just because I eat lots of small portions, that are more like snacks, rather than be a pig in one sitting like they do. I am 22kg down and continuing to go down and have discovered that you can't help others' opinions. You either have to smile politely or tell them to eff off, depends on your courage level, haha.

Wow, that was a disturbing yet impressive video, thanks for sharing. I should be shown on every TV channel in primetime.

Am in freefall and need help

Isn't it a sad state of affairs that we know that this site is here to help, but we are so disgusted at ourselves that we don't share it with folks we don't even know and instead we keep on with the freefall. I have been doing the same until Monday of this week, when i got the smallest fill of 1/4 ml, which I am sure is about 3 extra drops. However it has done the trick for me and turned on a lightbulb in the process. Yes it has only been 3 days but in my teeny brain I already feel like I want to make better choices and actually chew my food rather than the scoffing and PBing. I am a chippie fiend and because they will go down with zero effort, will eat and eat and eat them. Seriously I live on my own and can mentally count 17 bags of chips in my cupboard and not the snack sized ones. Before I got the extra fill I was having stuck moments all the time and thought that an extra fill would kill me, however what it has done is make me conscious of what and how I am eating, otherwise it all goes north. We are all different, so maybe you need to try differnet things until one works for you. All else fails, give me a PM and I will give you my number and next time you are reaching for the "naughties" I can talk you out of it, . I find it tough when there is noone around to witness my shortcomings.
  21. Well I found this rather interesting and heaps better than eanything else I have ever seen. We all know the key to losing weight is all about eating less calories than we expend, but have you ever really wondered how many calories that actually is?? Try the link below. Basically it is to find out your own 'basal metabolic rate'. For me, it's about 7075 kjs a day. So even if I stayed in bed all day, I'd need 7075kjs to maintain my current weight. Anywho here is the link: www.bodyandsoul.com.au/tools/basal+metabolic+rate+calculator And here is the whole article: Read more: http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health-fitness/jessica-irvine-reveals-how-to-balance-your-body-budget/story-fneuz9ev-1226584166822#ixzz2LqxkiBO4 Enjoy!!
  22. And again, this is why I don't go to a gym. I am sick of these upity 20 something year olds, who know everything in the world about exercise...that they gained from a book!! Put them in their place I say and don't take their crap, take the time to think of something clever to say becasue you ALWAYS think of something better once they are gone, lol. Remember, it is you who is paying their bills and salaries!!

    60 for 50

Oh no the dreaded 50 is this year and I feel like I have achieved nothing. Although still down 16.4kgs. So this year, my aim is to reach 60kgs by my 50th birthday, which is on November 24. Hence the 60 for 50 campaign. I would like a lot of help from all of you forumites as I find it difficult to account for myself as I have no support network and noone to wave a big stick at me. All I need to do to achieve this goal is to lose 0.32kgs per week. Looks easily achievable on paper but as we all know, if it was that easy we would all look fantastic with the body we want. I have started today at 73.6kg and desperately need people to harrass the crap out of me to keep me on track. Anyone up for the challenge??

    how can it be

Have to say that I also had a sausage incident on the weekend with the same result, minus the meat pie. I attended a function and all there was was sausages, bread, steak and potato salad, not a single healthy choice to be had. Had three beers instead, filled the spot, but not in the approproriate way, then had wedges to soak up the beers. What a disaster!! Oh well a new day today, with nice healthy salad for lunch and lots of water.
