    Why Are People So Delusional??

Tell her politely but firmly - Are you aware of just how VERY rude you are? - it's none of your damn business what, when and how much I eat. Please keep your opinions to yourself BTW You look amazing, she is obviously just jealous!

    Banded .. Q+A, Tips.......

Just to change the subject....a useful warning tip. DO NOT take any medication without checking with your band doc first. The meds I take occasionally for skin rashes, (and was given by a doctor last week) irritated my stomach to the point where the lining swelled up, closing off the band almost totally... couldn't even swallow water. SO...after two days of increasing pain, overnight in hospital with a drip to resolve the dehydration. Dealing with a so-called doc who couldn't find the port even with an xray and an ultrasound machine! I eventually discharge myself in the morning, off to the surgeons office, 2ml out and back on the "find the green zone" treadmill again. I guess I will know better next time eh?

Sorry you had to go through this Karin. I think being banded is a constant learning curve for the rest of our lives. What an incompetant doctor not being able to find your band ! Golly ... everyone who's touched my belly since I've been banded, doctor or not doctor, has been able to feel my band.

That makes sense!! I've been on antibiotics the last three weeks and my band is being a total jerk about it! Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time Karin, hope you heal up soon. xx

  5. After struggling for months with a band that let me eat anything, now its siezed up to the point of pain - cant even drink liquids properly! WHY ME GOD!

  6. I was feeling like a loser - not the good sort - having only managed 23kg since banding - 15 months - plateaus etc... then my friend asked me to house/dog sit for a week. I take the dog for a long walk every night-about 20-25 mins when last night I realised that last time I house sat I could only manage one lap of the oval next door now its 3-4 and stick/ball throwing too.

    Not Lapland Related.

2 close friends of mine were in the same boat. 1 - 11 years of UNSUCCESSFUL IVF she gave up, sold the big house for a city apartment, swapped the range rover for a 2 seater sports car, went back to full time work and yep, you guessed it. 11 months later she delivered healthy twin boys. My other friend was divorced by her bastard husband cos she had 7 miscarriages in 9 years. Two years later she met a lovely man, he treated her like royalty and didn't care she "couldn't have children" , proposed after 6 weeks, and a month later she was pregnant. They have three kids now. I guess what I'm saying is that it will happen when the time is right and when you just relax. So look at the positive side. Every time a friend get pregnant or has a baby, share in their happiness and remind yourself that we don't understand the workings of the universe, that your time WILL come and you will be a better stronger more confident mother because of the wait. If you focus on the negative you will attract negatives to your own life. Just keep believing and you will get there.
  10. I'm only half way there and already I wonder who the hell that fat woman was !My closest friend walked right past me at our regular coffee shop this morning - its moments like that, keep me plugging away at it.
  11. 100.5kg...soo close... sooo slow!!!

  12. Apparently there is now a doc at the PH hosp who can do fills / unfills too so you wont need to fly as often. Heard it from a bander working up there on one of the minesites. Good luck.

    Let's celebrate!

Kate that sounds like a great challenge - and motivation too! I could almost be tempted to fly over for THAT celebration!
