    November 2012?

Hello, Is there anyone still on here who was part of the original November 2012 bandit group? I have not logged on for a few years and couldn't find the group anymore? Just wondered how everyone was going after nearly 6yrs with the band. I have just re-visited a post I put up in September 2013 when we were approaching the 1yr band anniversary and I was really excited at getting my gold bangle. I did it I got down to 79kgs and was sooooooo happy, little did I know at the time I also had Pneumonia which was speeding up my weight loss. Once over that and a bronchial wash the weight started to creep back on. I then had a marriage breakdown which contributed to the weightless and a shoulder injury resulting in little or no exercise. Fast forward to today and I am now 90kg. I peaked at 95kg (19kg below my heaviest) and then took myself in check. I have been doing lite and easy for around 3 months - having Optifast for breakfast a meal in a bowl (lite n easy) for lunch and a lite meal (lite n easy) for dinner. I lost 5kg and then started to snack between meals and yo-yo started again, put 2 kg back on and have now lost it again. I am unable to go to the gym anymore due to the ongoing shoulder injury. I do walk roughly 8000-10000 steps 5 out of 7 days a week. I am stuck really. It's 11 weeks to Christmas I want to get back to 84kg before then which I feel is achievable - 6 kg in 11 weeks but how? Do I continue with lite and easy which is getting bit boring now and possibly causing me to snack for variety OR start doing Optifast 2 meals a day with a small dinner or something else. I feel I just need a kick start and once I break back into the 80's kg I can keep going I think. Would love some advice - I have the portion bowl and plate but given I am doing lite n easy its all calorie counted anyway. I reckon I am having around 800-1000 calories per day which according to google is probably about right for a banded person - though happy to be corrected on that. How many calories are we supposed to be eating. I feel I am in the green zone eating healthy, smaller plates, smaller cutlery etc but its not working anymore. Should I be considering this 5 day reset pouch program perhaps? Help!

Hi, Not posted for a while though I have been keeping up-to-date reading the posts. Great to see everybody doing so well. Hasn't this year gone quickly....can't believe we are almost upon our 1yr band-anniversary. I personally am 2kg away from 30kg loss (banded 19thNov) and am sooooooooooooooooo happy. It's my birthday on 17th Sept and I have always wanted a solid gold bangle. I have seen one I like and popped a deposit on it. When I have lost the 2kg hopefully in time for my birthday its going to be a joint birthday/weightloss celebration bangle. So I will see it daily and its a constant reminder of how far I have come. The bangle is 6.5cm wide so I am thinking of getting it engraved on the inside with my 30kg loss!!! So excited......once I have hit 30kg I only have another 6 or 7 to go before goal......that is my challenge to reach before Christmas! YAY!!!!

Went to .GP today unrelated band issue.....just a query I haven't had a period (sorry tmi)since before Christmas. Dr reckoned it could be my drastic weight loss? Anybody else have this issue. I am defo not pregnant though am querying the change coming early.....she is doing blood tests.....
  5. Whoops I appear to have posted in the last post.....suffice to say I was banded by Ben and had NO issues, No issues with my follow up with him. Have seen Paul and Steve again NO issues......not-so-chubby-nanna think you should give Ben a go (in my opinion!)
  6. Hi not-so-chubby nanna, I think you should give him a go....it's one persons opinion. As I posted previously I was banded by Ben in Nov and have seen him twice since along with his colleague for fills and have found him informative and helpful certainly nothing Krackers has experienced. I wouldn't be putting my op off just because one person had a "bad" experience. The sooner the op is over the sooner you can recover and get on with the rest of your life!
  7. Copied from other post with same title.....Just to give a balanced opinion.....I was banded by Ben in November and found him to be nothing but supportive. Yes he did go through all the pro's and cons which I expected and had already researced. I did feel he was young (compared to me - though everybody appears young to me these days, I am 46!!!!!!) I didn't find any of the attitude with him that you have experienced. What I would say if you are not comfortable with him change surgeon - Steven Sabine is also at that clinic, I have seen him for fills and he is ok too. Hope this helps. BTW this is my opinion only!

    How often...

once a week on a Monday.....day of the op.
  11. I have hit a plateau for the past 3 weeks so today I up'd the exercise. I did a body pump class and know I will be stiff tomorrow. It's 12months plus since I did a class and it was sooooooo good to get back. I have been doing 2 aqua classes a week. Hoping the .5.ml I had today and increased exercise get the scales moving again

Hi - I have been floating around for a while, not posted much, but read everything - what a truly inspirational bunch we are!!!! I had pizza last night - 3slices of bbq chicken which was yummy....not had pizza since October 2012 when I started Optifast. I have lost 16kg to date 48% of my total weight to lose and very happy. Do I feel guilty about the pizza NOPE I don't. In my pre-band days I would have thought nothing of polishing of a medium pizza plus cheesy garlic bread. I ordered a regular and could only manage 3 pieces. I have no issues eating bread or anything....no PB moments, no stuck moments all is good. I am back at dr on Monday for more fill have about 4mls at the moment.
