CBS - surgeons other than Prof O'Brien

I went with Stewart Skinner due to the fact that he also has clinics closer to home. Follow up appointments are very important. He did a great job, scars a minuscule really.
  2. 18kg's down in 23 weeks. So far so good.

  4. Note to self - no more than 3 glasses of wine is my limit, anymore and I get ravenous food cravings.

    My One Enjoyment

New Chocolate Philadelphia! I spread it on 3 Organic corn crackers - its divine! I track all my calories and can totally have them. I'm around 1200 cals per day - some days I go a bit over but normally it because I have enjoyed some wine, eaten out, or have a head hunger. I cant say that i feel really deprived yet. I eat what I want - even chocolate sometimes, but I just track the calories. Have only fallen off the band wagon a couple of times, when I stopped counting calories, and thought it had been a disaster - but it wasn't as bad as i thought as I still lost weight. I don't think i'm in green zone just yet, but my diet is manageable at the moment. Dinner tonight was king island fillet steak, with warm salad of pumpkin squash, asparagus, beetroot, basil, rocket, spinach, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and balsamic vinegar. YUM! Also - i eat late a night too - I snack (but track the calories) very often it is not as bad as you think - you might be worrying over nothing. I often get to dinner some days and have 700 calories left - so I have my dinner, and later I will have a treat or snack. Blooming brilliant!

    Calorie intake

I aim for 1200 - sometimes I'm under and sometimes I'm over. I keep track so I can learn about my new eating habits, what works best etc. I'm in for the long haul so the calorie counting and measuring is helpful. So far it's working. Regardless of my fills and band tightness I still lose about a kilo per week without exercise. Will get another fill soon but not much. I'm not doing too badly. But not green zone - just will power and some band restriction.

    January 2013 Bandits

I got a big bruise after my first fill.
  9. Goal by 14th of March is to be over 10 kg lost. Currently 9.1kg lost - keeping it at around 1kg per week. Its slower than I would normally lose weight, but much more consistent. It all good - clothes slackening off now :)

  10. I love that i can still enjoy a nice meal and some wine and still lose weight! Happy bander :)

  11. You can buy a product called chlorophyll. It comes in liquid and capsules. It is an internal deoderiser that works for both ends. It's also an excellent anti-inflammatory, oxidizer, and reduces acidity. It also gets rid of toxins (so if you are a smoker I would highly recommend this if you can't give up). Doctors prescribe chlorophyll for heavy metal poisoning too. So many benefits - getting rid of smelly breath is one.
  12. I am reading Melanie Taits book right now! I already have the band, but I am really enjoying reading about her journey, her family and the difference it made in her life. I already feel good that I am making a long term commitment with getting the band. So I can only say I am happy I did it. The gap scheme is great, but this is surgery and it has risks. Go for the best surgeon and package you can afford!

This might be a silly question??

i have a dent exactly where my big scar is. if i pull in my stomach muscles or bend or lean over in indents more - quite significantly. it was a little uncomfortable just after op, but i dont notice it much now. I asked the surgeon about it, he looked and wasn't worried. he said that it was just part of the healing and that it can take a year or so for things to get back to normal.
  14. My burps hurt so much too and there was nothing i could do to soften them. They didn't do any damage though, so don't worry.

    Pets!

OH I love animals! So many cute photos guys! These are my "boys" Bobby and Angus - Mini Schnauzers. Bobby is the Uncle and Angus is the Nephew (his mum was Bobby's sister - in fact Angus parents were called Peter and Jane!!) I got them from a brillian breeder in Cranbourne North called Blaizenoaks. Their dogs have the best nature! So my wee guys are just a hoot - I love 'em! My affectionate names for them are "Chicken..or wee chicken" and "my boy".
