    January 2013 Bandits

Genie jones and nurse cutie thanks for your reply ... Firstly port sight split a week after surgery and as it is the biggest wound I most certainly did freak out went to my gp she cleaned it and put bandage on it and also took a swab and antibiotics. Went back a week later and doctor changed antibiotics to stronger as I have a staf infection. So port is still covered with bandage but other wound which is second biggest and isn't covered but today doesn't look bad just a little deep in my opinion.

Hi all and help pls... I had surgery two weeks today I have had problem with my port site not healing and as I had glue instead of stitches it has a big opening that now has an infection. Yesterday another site from the surgery the glue has also fallen off leave a big gaping hole. Has anyone else had these problems is it normal to have a gaping hole?

My understanding from dietitian was liquid means soup, custard, optifast, sustagen etc I agree it is difficult the part you r doing is the second two weeks and let me tell you I will be pureeing everything especially lasagna. Not sure if you will cause any problem. Hopefully someone else can help or call BMI and check

Colleagues: To Tell or Not to Tell?

Hi genie I have told a few people at work but as I work in a mainly women dominated workplace I am sure all will know before long lol. I am a teacher and I know I am doing it for all the right reason so hopefully they will understand. But I believe it is up to each individual person. However in saying that I haven't had surgery yet I am next week so I might wish I hadn't.

    BMI psych and dietician

Nothing is expected they just chat to you about what to expect but if you have done your research you will know lots . Kjay is correct I am going with BMI and paid for dietitian but last week saw a dietitian free of charge at joondalup hospital and she was great very informative I think better than BMI's dietitian and will see post surgery at joondalup also.
