This is what it's like to have food stuck in my lap band. It hurts so much that I go into a bit of a panic sometimes. I talk about what causes food to get stuck and ways to avoid it. I also talk about how I deal with this problem. I'm not sure why I was smiling during this video cause the stuck food was hurting like a bitch ... lol. I think the pain was making me a little hysterical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWxwtdUIpnk

Hi all. I was banded on the 8th of August, so I'm nearly two weeks post-op. I've been sifting through a lot of different topics and questions on here and what's stuck out the most is exactly that - the "stuck" moments. Ironic, hey? To be honest I'm quite worried about the first time I will experience this for myself. It's enevitable - I know it will happen, but I'm extremely scared of it. What do I do when it happens? Drink? Don't drink? Wait? Try to bring it up? Ehhhh! Help! x

Hello- I need some help and advice. I had a fill about 3 weeks ago and it was crazy good: no hunger, drinking good, eating well, dropped a heap of weight. Then I had a few stuck moments. I went back onto liquids for 24 hours after each one and then slowly started again. However, the stucks are becoming more and more frequent and I am even having trouble getting liquids down, even at night. I'm hardly able to eat anything except sliders, and that is a slippery slope (pun kinda intended). The major problem is that we are in NZ on a family holiday, and won't be back for another 2 weeks. My biggest worry is that something bad is happening. I can cope (kind of) with just liquids for another 2 weeks but don't want any permanent damage done. For example, last night I was making up the kids' bed in the campervan and I PB'd up a glass of water cordial. At 8pm. Don't know what to do!

Hi all, I know that we've all asked a million and one questions and yes, I should probably call my surgeon and ask first... When you get stuck, how long can you remain stuck for? And does it eventually dislodge itself and either go down or come up? I had more fill in on Friday, and now my band is super snug. Yesterday I only ate eggs for breakfast about 10am, and at 8pm I went to eat dinner. I was crazy busy yesterday and didn't have time to prepare real food, so I opted for those Steggles crumbed chicken tenders in the oven. They were soft and I had like 3 bites before getting stuck. I did the usual stuck routine, PB'd a number of times, had fizzy etc. Despite my attempts, not all of it came up or went down. Now, over 12 hours later, I can still feel a sort of lump in the back of my throat. I'm able to keep down liquids, and it sort of just gurgles it's way down and makes some weird noises. I keep burping and getting some relief, and the lump/stuck thing seems to be getting less and less. How long can I stay stuck for? Should I have coke (and not diet pepsi) to dislodge it? I know I should go to the surgeon, but I was just there on Friday and don't want to give up yet!

I found this article interesting, her child has a condition where food gets stuck in her oesophagus. It reminds me of how our food gets stuck and the Dr says to use coke to get rid of it http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/cocacola-saved-my-baby8217s-life8217/story-fneuz92c-1226676372224

Well here's to a first... blegh! this is what i get for rushing through lunch however in my defense my boss was riding my ass to hurry up... GRRR well I spent about 20 minutes in the bathroom regurgitating my lunch which I must admit was probably not edible worthy I am day 6 semi solids which has been great so far. I bought some cheap chinese rice and chicken didn't have time to go get a decent lunch well boy did I pay for it.. the rice was dry and over cooked so was the chicken stringy and hard recipe for a block really! wasn't chewing properly and eating far too fast... LESSON LEARNT! felt like a foot rammed down my throat... really uncomfortable kind of awkward feeling just relief to have it OUT! now back to mushies for 24 hrs... One of my work mates thought I was pregnant.. she's like if you and bub aren't feeling well you can go home... bless her heart LOL!

Hello people. I'm stuck on 90kg. Plateaued. BUT, I'm pretty sure I know why. - havent been on my daily walks - have been skipping meals or not eating the right thing. And by that I mean for dinner last night instead of my usual salad and chicken tenderloin I had two small sausages. Today I have only had a coffee and two sushi handrolls. And not two in one sitting, I had one for lunch and having one now lol. So when my hubby gets home Wednesday, I'm going back to walking in the morning, (i know i always say that), and going back to more salad. Im not eating junk, just have stopped eating the salads/vegies i was before. BUT, even thought the scales arent moving I had to do something to lift my spirits, so I went to BIG W and had a look through their pathetically small clothing range. I grabbed a pair of the $9 Emerson jeans i always wear, in a size 14....yes, not the 16 that I'm currently wearing. I then went to the bras and found a pretty one in a 16C (not the 18/20C I was the last time I bought a bra). THEY FITTTTT!!! I didnt buy them, I had no money lol, but I just wanted to see for next time. So I've gone from the size 18 Emerson jeans to the 14 (even if my fat does look worse spilled over the side), and gone down in bra size as well. I'm thankful for that. Next time I buy bras I will be happy to look for the 16. Its great to see a loss on the scale but nothing compares to being able to go to the shops and find something that fits (that you WANT to wear) in a smaller size. I still can't wait for the day when I can buy a size 12 top. My top has always been bigger than my bottom so my goal is to be wearing size 12 tops. Until then, I can smile a bit more today.

Hi everyone As part of the testing to see if i'm fit enough to be given my sisters kidney over the last two days i've had the MIBI rest n stress tests. The rest test was good but yesterday due to my rotten knee i couldnt walk on the treadmill n had to have the chemical injection to simulate me having big exercise omg it felt like a heart attack! or as the techie said 'the feeling of ultimate doom' Have you had one? what did you think of the pain? Last nite i had microwaved an already cooked sausage. popped bits in my mouth without sauce (i know!). it got stuck. all nite very sore very stuck. been sore all nite. i've been off colour since the test n even worse since stuck. Now i'm not sure if my back pain is from the stress test or the stuck. I'm sure my pain is from the stuck (back pain, spitting up heaps, can only just now stomach clear fluids)but have u had a MIBI test n did you have ongoing pain?
