Hi everyone,

I couldn't find a bandits thread for June so I've just created one so we could share our stories.
I'm booked in for 15 June and can't wait. Would love to hear what you're going to take to hospital and how long you're taking off work.

Hi! I'm booked in for surgery on the 15th June!!! My surgeon will be Dr. Watson in Perth. I have been using this board for about a month now for information but this is my first time posting

Dr Watson was my surgeon too. He is lovely and I had no problems with my recovery. Hope all goes well for you too.

I have been battling with my weight since I had my first daughter at 20. I always promised myself that I would not spend my 30's doing the same. I have got 10 months until my 30th birthday and then the rest of my life to enjoy my success and health!!!

I have only heard amazing things about Dr.Watson and his staff. I have had two family members have him as their surgeon. I guess I am very lucky to have the complete support of my family unlike a lot of sad stories I have read on this forum.

I hope to one day be an inspiration to other new forum uses like many of you have already been to me

We have the same date Larnz but different surgeons! It'll be nice to share the journey with someone! If you don't mind of course!

How exciting wantingdressofmydreams! How good is the feeling when you walk out of the surgeons office! I had a little cry when I got home after seeing my surgeon! It's almost a sense of relief when you realise this IS going to happen and you WILL be successful! Nothing can stop us now!

Yes I was so stoked, I was worried going in as I'm a bit lower on the BMi scale of things so didn't know if I would get the go ahead. I am so excited, I hope the next month goes quick! I'm glad to be sharing the journey with you all do you have to do opti slim before hand?

Surgeon never said anything to me about optifast, how about you?

Hi Bree I also didn't have to have optifast prior to surgery I checked with him and it's only when your liver is large and as your on the lower side then it's unlikely your liver is large and that would be seen in your bloods apparently

Hey, never had a mention of optifast. I'm guessing they would check your liver with the blood tests. I'm quite thankful I don't have to!

Hi everyone, well it's official, I am going to be a June Bandit.
Booked in for 8th June with Dr Dolan at Mercy Hospital.
Soooooo excited but nervous too

I have to start optifast 2 weeks before the operation It's not going to be easy as I have tried shake diets before and failed. Hopefully i'll have more motivation this time...a light at the end of the tunnell

Tracey, did Dr Dolan ask you to do optifast at your first consultation? Or was it the dietician?

I don't see the dietician until 31st, but the staff at the front desk said I should start it two weeks before hand, she seemed worried that she couldn't get me in to see the dietician earlier

I am officially a June Bandit! So excited, the next few weeks are crazy with the appointments I need to attend before surgery but booked in for the 12 June with Dr Winnett! He was so lovely, so glad he will be my surgeon!
