Non Scale Victories (NSVs)

Was ironing my sons jeans. They are size 35mm skinny jeans. I thought I wonder if I can fit into these so I tried them on. And yes I could! And they were very comfortable!

I just bought my first size 12 top for summer. And no it's not of the loose fitting or stretch to fit variety - it's a lovely form fitting shirt in a non-stretch material.

Now I just have to resist the temptation to leave the size tag hanging out of the back so that all my friends take note.

We do running club on the 3 days per week it's on before school. So far we have managed 2 laps of the oval except today where we did 3. I was so proud of us. We jogged part of it and walked the rest. Can't wait to see what I can manage when I've had my surgery and no longer carrying so much weight. Come on April consult so we can get the ball rolling!

So proud of you! Well done!

When I was out walking my Hounds on Monday I went to a reserve that borders onto a primary school.  The kids came out and were doing laps of the track - I thought of you! :) .  And thought that maybe I should try jogging as well.

Yesterday I bought a pair of size 12 jeans from Katies. When I started this journey 22 months ago I would have been happy to fit into a regular size 18 and I never dared to dream of wearing size 12.

Yet despite my successful loss of 59kg and having met my surgeon’s goal, my BMI of 27 still puts me in the overweight category and I would have to lose another 6kg to get under BMI 25. I have no intention of trying to lose another 6kg. I’m 172cm and 60 years old and I’m starting to look scrawny. If I’m going to be brutally honest then I also have to admit that  I’m  becoming obsessive about losing weight. So as of today I am changing my focus from weight loss to weight maintenance - and enjoying those size 12 jeans that I never dreamed were a possibility.

Many, many congratulations and very well done!

You are tall, you lucky thing!  I am a midgety 153 cm!

I saw my sleep specialist this morning for what will be my last consultation. Having lost 60kg, I am finally, finally, finally cleared of sleep apnoea. I no longer have to wear that awful mask every night and I can travel without having to cart a CPAP machine with me.

So I'm getting in my 10000 steps but generally a lot more on work days. Yesterday we took the train to the city and I normally get really sore from all the walking but I didn't get any pain and I ended up doing over 12000 steps yesterday. I even ran while racing my daughter (will not do that without a sports bra!) Also I'm now in size 14s and it's actual work pants with a zip and hook not stretchy leggings. Feeling amazing and couldn't be happier.

Size 14 jeans from Valley Girl! Omg to walk in and buy something I actually like (jeans ripped at the knees) and also not have snobby sales assistants because of my size is incredible.

Also went to the zoo today and no pain from all the walking. Last time I was not only 6 months pregnant but also morbidly obese and I was in agony, bad tempered because everything hurt  and couldn't enjoy myself.
