I am booked for gastric sleeve on November 12.  I am a 50 yr old female weighing 167kgs and 170 cms tall. I am finding time really dragging now I'm at optifast stage. So excited feel like I have been waiting forever.

I’m booked in for surgery on the 19th. I’m going through the optifast stage at the moment, and I’m not struggling too much.

Do you guys have any concerns or fears about the surgery?

All surgeries carry risk. I was pretty dedicated to sticking to the diet before surgery to try and help mitigate those risks. I also worried about staple leaking post surgery. But I am a fairly terrible over thinker.

I think a mixture if worry and excitement is normal.

Hey Merrynda,

i has my surgery 6 days ago. I was definitely keen to go home. How’s your discomfort/pain? I struggled with the gas pain but that got a lot better after 24 hours.

Hey Pam,

it varies, so it’s hard to say. I’d recommend contacting Medicare and your healthcare provider. And contact your surgeon and Anesthesist. They are always prepared to answer those questions :)
