Hi Everyone, I'm also new to this site and a Launceston girl and about to be banded on 2 April 2011. I would love to join in any get togethers up in the north if there is a support group. Cheers Karen

Hi ....Im trying to get a support group started up on the North west if you are in this area. I am nearly two years banded and there is a huge need for support. I suggest people start putting themself out there and telling which district they live so they can connect. I know also that there are many banders in the North west but aren't online.....Im about to post a community notice in the Advocate for a meeting. good idea hey? Meg

Hi everyone
New to this site and finally found a Tassie group YAYYYYYY
excuse my enthusiasm and delight lol. I am from Hobart and was banded by Dr Tony Pat in July 2009 and so far have lost 50kg but still a long way to go. Am finding I am losing enthusiasm after quite a few health issues and just need to get my motivation back for the long journey ahead. Keep up the excellent work everyone.

Hi all, Like so many in this post, I am new to this group and the banding caper. I was banded 10 days ago on friday the 26th of August 2011 in Hobart through the public system after being on the waiting list for almost 10 years. Still feel sore and sorry for myself and for some reason feel embarassed that I needed such intervention in the first place. I live in Devonport and just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.

Hi everyone. I just started a support group for Tassie on facebook http://www.facebook....46879472088844/
Apparently there are a few groups already, but they're listed as secret, which means they're invitation only. Mine is one anyone can search and join. Please feel free to join to post links to anything that may be helpful, and also just to chat to people locally who are going through the same things. I'm hoping if I can get enough members, maybe setting up something where people can meet. Online support is great, but sometimes it's good to chat to people face-to-face about your band without them having no idea what you're talking about
