Well Done on your weight loss goawayfat.
I am feeling really good. I haunt had any problems and my weight loss is averaging half kg week. Slow but steady. Probably around the 13kg mark loss for me but I will update my ticker at next fill appointment on the 23rd January. I have had no stuck moments or PB's to report but still don't think I have reached full restriction yet. No regrets and it feels great to see the scales going down.

Just thought l would give you an up-date on my weight loss to date. l can't believe it has been 3 months already since l decided
to change my life in a wonderful way.
So far l have had no troubles everything seems to be going good for me at this stage food wise. l did have a few weeks with no weight loss at all, but
l decided to step up the exercises and that seems to have budged it. My next appointment with my surgeon is on Tuesday so l am not sure if he will give me another fill or not, but we will wait and see.
l hope all the other October Bandits are doing well, it would be lovely to here how everyone is going.

I'm glad to hear everyone is going well. I've now got 5.5mls in my 10ml band. I can eat anything (no issues) but I'm still not full on small meals and think about food between meals- which is disappointing. I've asked my surgeon for a barium swallow x-ray and he said he will consider it in 4 weeks after he has inserted another 1ml in a fortnight.
I've lost 14.4kgs so far, but only 6.4 of those kilos have been post-band (the rest on OptiFast).
I started drinking alcohol again in December (after a 6 year break) and had a few too much New Years treats and put on 1.6kgs. I know it would have been a lot worse though without the band!
I've also been emotional eating after finding out that my partner of 4 years had been cheating on me with his ex, so I'm back on my anti depressants and mood stabilizers (which I absolutely detest). I also had to take down my FaceBook page which had been keeping me socially connected on my "I don't want to crawl out of my hole" days.
Do I regret getting my band though? No way! I'm still better off than I was. I know I'll be okay in the future too, I'm just really really ready to stop feeling hurt and pain, and begin feeling happy and lighthearted again.
I have joined a group called 'Melbourne Friends, Food & Fun' where they arrange events for people to attend to meet new people and expand their social networks. I am extremely shy and sometimes suffer from agoraphobia but I'm going to be extremely brave and try and make some new friends and meet some new people. I'll keep you posted.
I finally bought a vibration machine for my home gym. I've been on it as a warm up device twice now for 10 minutes and I am actually feeling like I want to exercise and stretch after it so hopefully I will feel like exercising more often. I have been enjoying water aerobics in the warmer weather though.
I'd love to hear from the rest of the October Bandits too, so keep those posts coming.

It's been a while since I last updated my journey. Today I saw Dr Basson for my 2nd fill .... I now have 4ml in a 10ml band. Fill procedure hurt a little as expected but no worse than giving blood. I was concerned that I was at a plato losing weight but have since been reassured that I am doing okay. Dr Basson told me to aim for 1/2 kilo to a kilo per week and not to worry too much. I have now lost 10.1 kilos and gone down 2 dress sizes. I have just recently returned from the UK visiting family and friends and was pleased by the comments from them about my weight loss. I even treat myself to some new clothes as alot of mine were too big.
Well done to you all on your own weight loss journeys.

Well we are nearly at our 5-month bandiversary! Time flies! How is everyone doing?
My doctor didn't end up sending me for a Barium Swallow as he said I didn't need the radiation. If my restriction doesn't last for the next month he may consider a gastroscopy but he doesn't think it will be necessary.
I am finally back on track, with 7.5mls in my 10ml band I finally have restriction and some appetite suppression. I have lost a total of 18.7kgs so in the next month I'll hopefully be celebrating (with healthy choices) my '20kg lost' milestone and my 'I'm finally under 100kgs' milestone! Yay!
As someone who read every book, watched every video and You Tube clip and participated in many blogs before I had my surgery, I got extremely caught up with my own 'head issues' that I had to go back to basics and re-read them all for motivation, inspiration and routine. I now feel back in balance with my food, movement choices and treat choices: and the results are starting to show again.
I know many people think of a lap-band as a quick-fix but that is so far from the truth. For me it has required immense amounts of planning, scheduling, organising, changing routines, will power, positive self talk and determination. That aren't quick-fix or magic-pill things for me!
While I don't yet have my ideal body shape, many of my health concerns pre-surgery have completely disappeared- which is a major milestone in itself I feel.
I have a new written mantra which has been working for me. It is "Positivity. Balance. Self-Belief. = Life Wealth". At home I have a "these are my choices in life" wall where phrases, thoughts, feelings, pictures etc go which helps me heal, get motivated or inspired or just to feel instead of always thinking. I'd love to hear what you would put on your "wall" to help you through!
Cheers,
Jules

l am glad everything is going well for you and congrats on your weight loss that is fantastic.
l also have 7.5 ml in my 10 ml band and my surgeon is reluctant to put any more in at this stage as l have had no issues
and l am still steadily losing weight.
My weight loss so far is 19 kilo's which l am super excited about, l would put on my wall " l can and l will do this".
All the best,
Kerrie

Well... For all of us we are nearing our 6-month bandiversary. How is everyone going?
For the last 2.5 months my head has controlled my (bad) eating and I've slipped back into my old habits, and as such I haven't lost much weight in that period either.
I've now re-evaluated and I've had some hypnotherapy with my own messages. They are:
1. I love myself
2. I deserve to be happy, healthy, fit and fabulous
3. I control what food choices I make and what I eat
4. I control what movement and exercise choices I make
5. I will not let fear contol my actions
I don't have much self confidence or self esteem, but the choices I make will boost this. As such, on my 6-month bandiversary (14/4/2012) I've decided to combat my biggest fear and I'm going skydiving. I haven't told any of my family or friends, but I'm looking forward to showing them my photos and videos of the event. I'm hopeful that this will also invoke an "I can do anything I set my mind to" mindset too... I'll let you know how I go.
Please let me know how you are all going too!
Cheers,
Jules

well it's my 6 month Bandiversary tomorrow. the scales have not been moving much lately for me. but on a positive note I have just scraped in at 50 per cent lost. So half way there. I just want to see double digits. so close I can smell it. just got to keep staying focussed and keep my eyes on the prize being goal weight. I know one morning very soon I will wake up and never see triple digits on the scales again. I think it's been about 18 years since I was double digits so can't wait. It's gotta be anyday now.
anyway, just thought I would check in. love to hear from more October Bandits.
Cheers Julz
