Argghhh...I got the dates wrong. I dont get banded until the 14th of December! Grrrr. silly me.

Photos...well...they officially suck. I hate having my photo taken. I cant stand the look of me right now, it makes me sad to see how obese I have become. Photos always shock me. I dont want to take any befor shots, but know that I really need to. Cant seem to find a camera with a lens wide enough to fit my whole ass in though

As for the height/weight chart. Im short, really short, 163cm. My ideal weight is around 58kg I think. I am nearly twice that. No wonder my ass hits the curb when I step down.

I am really starting to get nervous now. I have my dietitian appointment on Wednesday. I dont need to see a psychologist as we see them with work, regularly - Im not sure if it is to make sure we are sane, or insane.....!

Im looking forward to the Wednesday appointment, to have the whole Optifast thing explained. Im also going to go shopping tomorrow. I think it is time to start preparing. Time to cook up some soups and freeze them for post-op. Has anyone else done this yet? If so, what kinds of soups??

Anni

Hi all,

I've just booked in for my procedure with Dr Roy @ Circle of Care !!

5th Dec I officially become banded like the rest of my family. Yes ... mother, father and sister all have bands ... I'm the last one :(

Just started the liver shrink today and these shakes are disgusting, I need to workout a way to mask the flavour or this isn't going to last.

Looking forward to hearing how you all go.

Good Luck,

Matthew

Welcome Matthew! That's amazing that the rest of your family are also banded, atleast you'll have endless amounts of support. I've tried the optifast drinks (starting the pre-op 2 weeks on 23rd Nov) I love the coffee, chocolate and strawberry, but not so keen on vanilla. I've been told diet ice cream topping and instant coffee are a great way to flavour the vanilla drinks. Also, making the drinks with ice cold water apparently helps. Good luck, and dont foget to contact us if you need anything :)

Sarah.

I brought my first box of Opti today, Chocolate flavour :) Will be starting on Thurs.

When i met with the dietician i asked if i had to do it and she asked if my surgeon had told me to do it, and he hadnt mentioned it, but she told me it would be a good idea to do it!!

Also put my foot in it with blood tests, hadnt been told to get them, but when i spoke to Anethisist i asked if i had to have them and he yumed and arghed and said yeh you can! ARGH i had blood tests so if i didnt say anything i wouldnt of had to LOL

2 weeks and 2 days left!!! Its comming up so quickly!!!

I had my dietitian appointment and it went really well. I also tried out my new blender stick thingy, to see how good it works. WOW, that thing is amazing! It took about six seconds to vitamise a container of ice. I made myself a smoothie for breaky this morning, first time I have made a smoothie, it was amazing :)

Just wondering if there is anyone in my area, Brisbane, South/southwest Brisbane who is being banded arounde the same time as me - 14 December. I would dearly love to have a band buddy.

cheers

Anni

Just imagine the amount of weight you might potentially loose prior to the surgery, what a great way it'd be to kick start things. As far as the blood tests go, bad luck hehe :P I hate needles too. And sorry to make things worse but I rekon there'll be a few more needles down the track- think of it as the moreneedles u have the less the fear will be.

What brand is the stick blender? I've purchased a 800w sunbeam food processor but im yet to see if I can crush ice with it. Since it's summer time it'd be good to get a machine that can crush ice.

Mine is also a sunbeam - a 600W....crushes ice like a dream! Yours will absolutely blitz that sucker! Give it a whirl and see how you go. I was actually suprised at how quick it worked!

Ok cool, that's what I was hoping for. I'll certainly have to try it out before my pre-op diet starts. Thanks :D

Hello All

I am being banded by Mr Chan at Maryvale Private in Morwell on 2 December.

Have slowly started telling people and had a really good reaction from my family on the weekend (my big tough brotherr have me a kiss and was a bit emotional) it was lovely so I am here to say hi :D

I am sorry to say I weigh 148.8kg when I got on the scale this morning  I nearly died! Thats 6kgs up from initial surgeon appointment which wasn't that long ago!

Am suffering through Opti Fast and will hopefully be able to vitamise some vegies on Christmas Day as the whole family is coming to my house and I am cooking!!

Am enjoying reading all of your posts and know this forum will be a wealth of information to me.

Emma

Hi there i am being banded on the 7th Dec at Ashford hospital Adelaide. I am looking forword to it. Just started optifast. If anyone has any suggestion about what to eat after the op it would help. Only saw the Dr on the 25th Oct, everything has happened so fast. I have to have an endoscopy on the 1st of Dec. Have had all the blood tests ,ultrasound and seen the Dietition. I have had only about 7 weeks to organised it and by the sounds of it some people are more organised than me so if anyone has idea as what i should get for after the op it would be a great help

Soooo day 1 of the Optifast VLCD. Was starving around 3:30-4 so had my soup early and when my husband cooked his dinner I made myself a small salad which made up my 2 cups of vege. I snacked between my shakes with some carrot sticks and TF sugar free jelly.
I'm feeling tired but I think it's more because I had hardly any sleep last night thanks to my kitten lol...
17.5 days left!

We're booked in for the same day! :D I'm having mine done at Wakefield Hospital ... so not too far away from you. I've been slowly collecting ideas from everyone and I'm one of those organised one's who have majority of things sorted out now. Pretty much 2 weeks to go now!
