Hi Melandy, I am booked in for the 9th Feb 2012 and I'm really excited..what date are you having your surgery? I saw my doctor and weighed in at 94 kgs. Am only 158cm so need to lose 30 -35 kgs.

Hi, I'm booked in for the 16th Feb so will be about a week behind you. I'm now roughly 106kg and only 154cm (ducks disease) so yeah I hear ya, hoping for a fantastic 2012. Keep in touch, it will be great to share the ride:)

ok if i join in? i was banded a18mths ago and have had 25 fills- and doc only just found iv a leak,prob been their since the beginning as iv got no where. so im off to hosp 13th feb for a re-op and start over- opti fast and all.
so iv decided that 13 feb's my new REAL band day.

hi all - just sneaking in here - i have my first appointment with surgeon on the 2nd feb - does anyone know how long it usually is before i will get banded? im a private patient going through kevin dolan in perth.

Hi thinoneday, not sure, will depend on his schedule, but I have heard of people being banded as quick as two weeks from their initial appointment! Looking forward to hearing more from you

Hi everyone,

My name is Kerri and I, too am going in on the 16th Feb. I am in Townsville. Strangley enough, I am also 158cm tall and 94kg. Have so far been to see the dietician, the surgeon's nurse (who is going to become my new best friend) and am going to do my sleep study tonight. Have become completely obsessed with finding out info about everything prior to my surgery. Found a good book called Lapbands and laughter that went through the good, the bad and the hillarious. Am super excited (and nervous) about starting this journey. Good luck everyone! Looking foward to having someone to share the journey with

Hi all, I am being banded on the 6th of Feb and I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have about 55 kgs to lose (yikes) and having my band done in Melbourne. I am hoping for a speedy recovery because I have two young children aged 2 and 10 months.. I need to try and work out how to set up my ticker so i can keep track of things.. I look forward to joining this journery with you all.. ..

Hi Kerri!

How did your sleep test go? Did they do it in your own home? I was told they did. I have all other pre-op appointments booked except thAt one so far. Did they call you or did u call them? I called and got told that they had to be sent a referral and they didn't have one yet. I called the surgeons office and it's really hard to get hold of the nurse so still not sure if they have or not. I'm not telling everyone at work, only my close friends and family know so far.

Anyway if you want to catch up for a coffee before our big day just PM me!

Hi Mel,

Well, it wasn't the worst night sleep I have ever had but it was fun trying to find a comfortable position with wires taped to your head and little bits of plastic up your nose .
I am with Dr Avramovic too. They do have to send through the referal otherwise medicare doesn't give you the rebate. the guy, Bruce gives you a call and sorts out a time when you have a boring night planned. I had to go to their place for the visit, but then you take the equipment home and do the actual study at your place.
I got excited and told pretty much everyone who would listen to me. There are a lot of people where I work who have gotten some kind of weight loss surgery so most of them where just like "oh yeah, another one getting it done'.
It will be good to meet up before the surgery. Excuse my ignorance, but how exactly do I PM you? Also where do you paste that bit to get the ticker to come up? So not up to date with these things...

Good Luck to your all ..I was a february Bandit 2years ago at the age of 61yrs old so its never too late...I love my band and have never been happier..I wish you all success in your journey and will follow your individual stories here..I have a friend Tina who is also booked for February, she is a member here but I think she is more of a reader than a poster but who knows maybe she will start to post once she starts her journey...Hey are you out there readiung this Tina H. if so say Hello ! don`t be shy its great to have the support of others taking the same journey....
