Have woken up this morning feeling pretty damn good. Made a beautiful mexican bean soup last night and it was so filling that I couldn't even get through the same portion that I have been using for the other soups I've made. It was nice to have a change of flavour. I miss my variety

Went back to the docs today and he did an ultrasound, he said everything looks ok but wants me to keep up with the antibioticsand see Dr Tim on Monday.
I have so go my appetite back i feel like i can eat anything so i am not real sure about that but I have lost a little bit .300g since I saw Bronwyn last Monday.
Next Monday I will ask Tim if he thinks i can have a fill earlier, at the hospital he said first fill 6 weeks but I think I am keen to have one before then so long as it is a little bit at a time.
Bronwyn is lovely she is a great help and truely understands everything about it, are you having the Berroca ?
Keep in touch
Hey Tina,
Glad to see that things are looking better with your infections etc.
I havnt had an appetite since the saturday following my surgery. I have started on soft foods this week and have found that both yesterday and today i have felt a tad bit squirmish. Not sure if it is related to the foods that i have been eating as my diet has been fairly simple and often rather bland foods prior to this.
Thats fantastic that you are still losing even though you feel that you can eat basically everything. I am averaging about .3 to 0.5 per day which is rather alarming to me at the moment but i am sure that that will die down.
Are you eating 6 small meals a day or ofting for the 3 meals a day. At the moment i am doing the 3 just because i have such a lack of apetite.
Bronwyn is fantastic! She definitely knows what she is talking about and i feel that she can absolutely relate to the way that we are feeling throughout the process already. I am still on the berocca which will run out on Friday and then will go onto the Centrum.

Hi there Josie hope your doing ok, yes l did go to Maryvale Private, nurses there were great and yes a new day and onward and downward. I felt l was being rushed to vacate the room by 10am for the next patient all l wanted to do was sleep..... I am day 7 post op and lm still not able to drive my car so you have done so well. I actually went back to my surgeon today as l felt l should of progressed more and he assured me that lm doing fine..... I have only had apple juice for the last 7 days cannot tolerate anything thicker that apple juice or V8 juice and was becoming a little concerned about it......My surgeon said thats ok and to stay on the apple juice for another week or two.......... then try thicker fluids again......

Re the discussions on walking, I've been able to take my dog for a walk for 50-60mins each day since day 13 post-op. Mind you, I've got a little cavoodle who I'm sure is a lot easier to manage than some bigger dogs!! I've found the walking has really helped the pain I've been getting at my port site - makes me more tolerant of it.

Does anyone have that lump in the back of the throat feeling pretty much all the time? I'm finding it really hard to judge how much to eat, which I know sounds daft, but one day I'm satisfied on three half-cup meals and a few days later I could eat all day.
And this lump thing has me worried. It's like I've a pill stuck in my throat. Last night I woke up and thought I could taste my dinner. I've not had a pb nor felt like one.
I'm on mushies but leaving things a but lumpier - is this feeling normal?
Cheers

Vic, I got that feeling when taking some capsule meds I have to take and also when I eat too fast or too much or if I'm stressed. I too get that thing where you can taste last food/drink at back of throat, I too wondered if this was like a mini pb but wasn't painful just not very comfortable.
Have put an offer in on a house yesterday so keep everything crossed for us, eeek, exciting times.
Hope you're all ok x

Well Josie they were my exact thoughts, god can l survive on just apple juice alone..... I had Doctor Scott who assured me that l have no fluid in my band at the moment. I didnt mind the apple juice when l had no appetite but now that its slowly coming back mmmmmmmm starting to feel like something yummier....... Day 8 post op today and god l had a wonderful sleep last night and l woke up feeling so good this morning.... I woke up on my side which is the first time since the op. Yes your right it does get better, swelling on my belly is going down and my 12 year old actually told me this morning that my head is getting smaller....... lm hoping he means my face, haha.....Take it easy and rest up.

Vic, I sometimes get that feeling at the end of the day or when I am lying the wrong way. Everything seems to swell up after lunch with me. My port gets sore and quite swollen and my band feels a little more restrictive. Also get that feeling when I drink too much too quick (distraction really is a killer)
Have to laugh at some of the noises my belly makes now. Yesterday I did a burp that souned like a tiger growling. Am cracking myself up. Hubby just shakes his head.
