HI Everyone, How are you all doing so far? I was banded on 22nd of March and had my 1st fill today of 3ml. Was no where as bad as I had thought it would be :D Just a question...I have really sharp stabbing pains in the top of my left shoulder, and the same but not as intense in my stomach and side under my rib cage. Anyone else had this? I had my fill at 12 noon and since then I've only had 1/2 a skim cappucino and half a cup of pumpkin soup. Just a bit worried as I didn't have any pain like this after my op, up until about an hour ago

Hi mumoffourboys,

I've had shoulder pain daily since the Op. I believe there is some nerve down near the port connected to the shoulder so maybe the fill just hit that nerve. I've also had the short stabbing pains under the rib cage and I think I put a thread on it in the Bandit Lounge or FAQ. They disappeared after 2-3 days so I believe it was just some sort of settling.

I haven't had a fill yet so I dont know for sure obviously, but I if you are concerned and it still happens tomorrow/thurs then give your clinic a call.

Hi March Bandits,

Wow this thread is very very quiet!!!!!

Hopefully you are all settling in to banded life, and are having some success on the scales.

AFM, Had an appointment for my first adjustment yesterday (5 weeks banded), but after chatting with surgeon he decided I didn't need a adjustment yet.... Am still very cautious when I eat as I have some restriction as to the volume of food I can consume. I don't think I've had a "stuck" moment yet although there's been a few times when calcium tablets have proved a bit difficult to shift.

In 5 weeks since surgery I am 32% to my goal weight, and feeling on top of the world.

Would love to know where you are all at in your journey's.

Lana xx

Ih all, me agin, just finished catching up on eeryone elses updates, sounds like everyone is doing well!! that is awesome! well, as for me, i have continued in the downward fashion on the scales, although, today i weighed myself, and according to my scales i have put on, i will re-weigh on monday, (official weigh day) and if it is a gain, i am going to have to pay attention to my diet, i am really enjoying the success, and do not want to start putting on weight. that said i am aware that i can not continue to loose the weight this well forever, althought i would love it, i would be at goal in no time!!

hope everyone else is succeeding witht heir goals! look forward to hearing from all the march bandits on their updates!!!

Hey guys! :) I'm a March bandit. Was banded on the 27th of March at glengarry private by Dr Kevin Dolan. Such an amazing surgeon and I cannot speak highly enough of the nursing staff at the hospital :) Very excited about whats to come with the band! Got my first fill, 5ml, 3 days ago which is very exciting along with the news I've already dropped 3 kgs! Hope to be able to meet up with some other bandits.

Welcome hnabre. We were banded the same day just different states.

Hope everyone is travelling well.

I've been on solids for 2 weeks now and had my first fill on Friday. I have 4 ml in a 10ml band. Ate out for the first time today with other Sydney bandits and that wasnt as scary as I thought it would be.
I still have shoulder pain daily and have come to the conclusion I think I'm gonna be stuck with it!

Kell75 congrats on double figures! I agree, it was a good feeling!

Hi Everyone,

Well I guess I should consider myself lucky, banded March 1st, I can eat anything (except fried rice - go figure! )no pain, no vomiting, little restriction, but consequently not much weight lost either -
At 9.5 kg in 9 weeks, - its SLOOOOOWWWW
Got my third fill last week, now 7ml in a 14ml band and starting to see results but Im too scared to jump on the scales until the week is up.
Hanging in there!

I was banded on the 16th March and I'm going for my second fill to- morrow. It can't come soon enough because my weight loss seems to have stalled and I'm also able to eat quite a lot. It's not as easy as some people seem to think.

Hey Fellow March Bandits

Glad to hear everyone is tracking well. Yes bring on the fills I say.

Just wanted to let you all know that due to the success of yesterdays awesome Sydney lunch get together, we (Kylie) are panning another lunch date early July, location possible Top Ryde. Please got to the NSW page for more details.

I really recommend making the effort, it was very informative and I met some lovely people, including fellow March bandit, MissA.This was my first get together and it was a really wonderful experience so come alone.

We may possible look at a night out later in the year and it it would be amazing if we could get some people from the other states to come.

Anyway the invitation is out there fellow March bandits.Hope to see some interest from this group:)

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well.

Well.. exciting news - 3 days with NO shoulder pain. It's been 7 weeks and it has become a daily occurence until Saturday when I had none, thought I was lucky.. then Sunday and now today. We'll see if it continues!!

I have 4ml in my 10ml band but I think I need more. Im not hungry til midday/1pm so eat lunch then and then eat dinner about 7pm...... then I'm good til midday the next day. So the hunger is mostly curbed but I can still eat a lot. No where near what I could before obviously but maybe it seems like a lot after weeks and weeks of minimal food. Losing slowly still which is good.

Anyway, hope you're all great :)

Hi all,

I hope everyone is doing well, I'm happy to say I am now half way :D I had 28 to lose and Ive now lost 14.6.
I must say I'm very lucky not to have yet had any pb or stuck moments although I have learnt what I can and can't tolerate through a little pain on the way down!

everyone is very quiet, anyone else have any updates??
