Summer mum you will but absolutely fine! I personally can't feel my band but can feel my port when lying down!
After the opp I was in a lot of pain but it's sooo worth it!! It goes after a couple of weeks! My only advice is when they allow you in hospital just walk and walk and walk to try and get rid of the gas! Goodluck and you will always have support here!

I too can feel the port, not the band unless something gets stuck.
Unlike Tarryn I really had no pain after the op and had to keep stopping and reminding myself I had actually had it done
Good luck with it
best thing I ever did.

I felt very much the same as you before my surgery i was so scared of the what ifs ????, but as the other girls have said its so worth it i wish i had this done years ago. I have pain after my surgery but not to much mainly just sholder tip from the gas and by day 3 i felt fine, the main thing that helped me when i had my fist night at home was a bomberang pillow its the only way i could sleep i couldnt sleep lying flat. I have none been banded for 14 weeks and have lost around 35 kilos, so worth it lol, good luck with it all and you will be fine

While I can't feel my band inside me, what I do feel is full on a much smaller quantity of food! Fantastic feeling when you can eat a small plate of food and get that full feeling. I can feel my port through my stomach if I press hard and palpate for it, similar to palpating and feeling a baby inside a heavily pregnant woman, you can feel something hard. You will be fine. If you've been through childbirth, then the operation is easy in comparison!

I think its different for everyone I cann't feel my band or port but i feel pain when things get stuck. I think the worst part for me was the two weeks of shoulder pain worse than anything else but well worth it.

I had surgery on a Friday and was back at work the following Thursday. I remember not being able to stretch backwards but I felt pretty ok apart from that and the gas pain in my shoulders. I was also 20 at the time so I bounced back a bit better than my 56 year old mother did when she had hers.

I am 1 week post-op today and have felt what I would describe as the band rubbing for the last few days. Woke up today and the feeling is gone. Have had more of a dicomfort factor than actual pain and apart from an anti-inflamatory injection the anaethetist insisted I have, I haven't had anything stronger than panadol. I'm not constantly aware of the band being in there but know about it if I swallow something wrong.
Any odd little feelings you might get from the band will be worth it for all the benifits you can get from having the band. Best of luck
