Hi!!
Last week I made the decision to go ahead with the banding process (after 30yrs of dieting via various methods with mixed success) and I found this forum shortly thereafter. I have an appt with surgeon at the end of next month and am hoping I'll have a surgery date not long after that.
I want to say a HUGE THANKYOU to everyone who has posted here, for being so open and honest about your experiences. I had sooooo many questions and the vast majority of them have been already answered just by reading your posts.
Your positivity is so wonderfully refreshing - I'm expecting a world of negativity from fam/friends when/if I share my decision with them.
One question that (as far as I can see) hasn't been covered... I tend to sleep on my side & stomach - can you do this with the port? Has anyone experienced sleeping issues since being banded?
Again, thanks so much for sharing your tears and amazing triumphs. I look forward to hearing from you.
G 😊

Hello and welcome
I dont sleep on my stomach, but cant really see a problem with the port. The only time mine is a bother is at the gym when doing exercises laying on my tummy, I do feel it then, but that is on a hard surface and is usually involving arching the back etc, which makes the port more prominent... but other may be able to answer

I love sleeping on my side and stomach and no problems since the band... I've only had problems in the few days I had an overfill and was in the red zone... so had it corrected within the week and sleeping on tummy again. (If your band is too tight and you try sleeping on your stomach you end up with all your stomach juices in your mouth which needless to say is not conducive to sleeping!)
So good luck with your surgery and weight loss journey.

Congratulations on making the decision! I've had heaps of ups and downs since last feb when I was banded but I don't regret it at all. I have always slept on my tummy and the only time I've had an issue was when I was pregnant. I have never had problems feeling it. Good luck!
