Gallstones are more common in women around the age of forty who are overweight, high fat diet over a long period of time equals gallstones. So I guess that means a lot of bandsters have them as we are not the 'thin' part of the population! Probably some of us have them and don't know and some of us have symptoms.

Maybe we'll be lucky and not get them :)

Had my operation on 16th Feb. Could not believe the size of the marbles that were extracted. No wonder I was having problems with burping as they were restricting my band I think.

Anyway even though I am still sore at my navel site it is all over and is now time to get on with the rest of my banding journey. Down to 85.5 kgs now so only 20kgs to go.

Thanks for all your advice

Lyn

Quite amazed at all the info above - I think there is a good chance I have gallstones. Strangely enough whenever I eat fish and chips (very rarely) I feel really bilious afterwards.

Kizza, maybe go get checked out just in case. The pain of a gall bladder attack is excruciating. I had to wait for 18months to get my gall bladder out and I endured many long nights of pain!! In the end I could pinpoint things that would set me off (Tomato and garlic were 2 offenders) but it can happen any time anywhere!
