Hi, I am a 2008 vintage bandit. I haven't had any band problems aside from mild occasional heart burn and would do it all again in a heart beat. When banded in July 2008 I was 134 kgs. I sailed along great for 3 years and got to 79 kg. I then had to have all the fluid out of the band for six weeks for major surgery. Even though like anyone who looses significant amounts of weight, i vowed and declared i would not put weight back on, its amazing how quickly the brain clicks back over to old habits .. even after 3 years. Its like starting from scratch trying to get the fill right - suprisingly the same amount doesnt go back in and have the same effect as it did before it comes out. Its also amazing how the more you beat yourself up about weight gain, the quicker you stack it on. Bit by bit, i put back on 14 kg and am currently at 93 kgs. The gain starting with having the fluid out and messing around getting the fill right, but ultimately happened about because i lost focus. I once read a quote that said "There is no lapband for the head - Trust me I would have paid the extra for that option" - you bet!
Two weeks ago I had to have major surgery again and had all the fluid out of the band again and cant get it back it for at least another 4 weeks. The nature of the surgery also means exercise is fairly passive for the next couple of months ... but not such that it effects my hunger. So far i have not put any weight back on mainly because i pretend the fluid is still there - i eat off the same little plate and serve myself the same amounts and drink plenty of water. Has anyone been through similar or have any tips to keep me on track for the next 4 weeks?

Wish I could of got that option for the head to be fixed, every day I struggle with the food while I am restricted my eyes are still bigger than my belly and hopes that I can eat it all up where in actual fact I can only do about 3-4 mouth fuls before I am completely over it. its good in a way cause food doesn't taste the same when you have to chew it a million times in your mouth!
you will get there stay focused and you can achieve anything
