Hi guys
I have not been on here long but in the short time I have noticed a particular member being negative towards most posts. Most of you are very supportive and very helpful and most of all considerate to others feeling. This is a support group not a make myself feel better by being rude and negative to others group. So I am going for the ignore and pretend this person does not exist group. So if you see something you find offensive ignore it don't feed the negative by commenting.. I will probably cop a bit of back lash for this. But banding together is what were here to do!! Help support those who need our support and encouragement plenty of negative putting down people judging us and saying hurtful things in our lives I don't think we need it here " can't say something nice don't comment" we have feeling too.. I wish you all the best of luck or your journeys here is to a year we end skinnier happier and healthier then the year we just started BIG HUGS to you all..

Jodie
P.S. Weight challenged people have feelings too!!

Is there an ignore function on these forums? I haven't used one but it might be a function that some of you find useful in your day to day use of this forum. Cheers.

If you click on the down arrow and select Manage Ignore Pref found it by accident looking to make a change to my profile recently. Might be a handy tool!

I am the same as you shy away from saying something i have put up a couple new posts as well as my introduction and been shot down..Nice way to welcome some one.Yes some are bigger then others and some have more to loose but you cant judge..We all have health problems that come with our weight and some are not those you want to share. But were meant to be here to support each other and not make comments and judge someone for how big small they are.
I am glad i am not the only one.We should be able to block or ignore these Haters !! this is the only word that come to mind that hate everything others write and always find something negative and bad to say

unfortunately it is a fact of life - people will not always agree on what another has written. What makes it worse is that when we post it is one dimensional, there is no tone to the persons voice, no character and you do not know them. For example look at your friends, we all have one that speaks their mind and probably says stuff that make you think OMG if they said that to someone they do not know - they would probably offend. Having said that people need to take this into consideration when posting ( I myself am guilty of probably coming across snakey). I think they really mean what they say but not int 'tone' that you are reading it. Even with emoctions added it still does not ease the sting of the words.

Dont be afraid to speak your mind.. If you are unsure on how this will be percieved then perhaps a simple *insert sarcasm here* might help. As for anyone who abuses or personally attacks you you always have the REPORT button ..

I am sure the MODS will have the same attitude as Jules in Pulp Fiction

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee".

Gee I love that movie - I think I may watch it today :P

Well said! I too generally shy away from putting things out there - once bitten, twice shy?? Plus, I've read a fair few responses to others on here and decided it's probably better if I shut up!

Also have to agree with Buckets though. Without the ability to hear a person's tone or read their facial expressions, sometimes I think I read too far into things...

It doesn't hurt to be supportive but in the end it is a forum site and the started threads and comments may not be liked by everyone but hey that's life.

GREAT MOVIE, great post Buckets. I agree with your attitude and Neddy's post too. If you can't speak your mind without fear what's the point of a forum? I must say I must have missed the negative posts all the ones I read are positive & interesting, I guess I'm a bit choosey or being older, thick skinned!

We are all adults...... if you don't like what someone says then just ignore it. I think some people on here are just too oversensitive, not every thing is aimed at you or about you. I see a lot of comments here obviously said in jest that are jumped on and taken way too seriously.

I thought Australia still had freedom of speech ??

I agree with every word bucket head says and if she doesn't ike me calling her fish face she can tell me straight :))

This is from my first post..thought i might put it in Bold Red so it's easy to see..Just saying in case some find it hard to read..
also wrote this in my 2nd comment

We should be able to block or ignore these Haters !! this is the only word that come to mind that hate everything others write and always find something negative and bad to say..

My Point is it's not one negative comment from a person once or twice now and then.. I am saying those who do it on almost every post.I am talking that this person never has said a nice thing at all that i have seen.

Think the point got lost some where between here and there !!!!

And yes own Pulp Fiction !!! Favorite movie and i always watch it with a Tasty Bevarage !!! Salavee

There is speaking your mind and there is being downright rude.

I am all for speaking my mind (I tend to do so and have tread on a few toes in my time) but querying a persons start weight (using this is an example) is downright rude and hurtful. In my mind whether you are 20kgs overweight or 120kgs overweight, the bottom line is you need help and have decided on banding (which is why we are all on this forum to begin with).

Freedom of speech does not equate to being insensitive and deliberately trying to hurt someone.

My 2 cents worth.

This site is great and I for one have not noticed or maybe just not bothered to notice a nasty thread. If an individual needs to vent well so be it. If some person doesn't agreed with me well so be it - tomorrow my post will be out of date. Come on this is to help/assist each other so can't we use it just for that. :) :D

It's such a shame Dominic i have seen a few comments towards you seems your well loved. Lets just ignore hurtfull things support those who need It and get on with things 😃. I think if we see something we don't like just move on to the next positive think... if we all be positive maybe it will rub off onto the negative people... And remember Laughter is the best medicine xxoo
