I got mine the day before surgery too. Nurse said no tampons and they had pads there (although I'd packed my own). My surgeon lets his patients wear undies during surgery, but I have heard of some hospitals where they give you paper undies... The nurses were awesome, though. Anyone going through surgery with their periods, just let them know. Nothing at all to worry about.

Hopefully mine isnt late then. My period is due the week before my surgery!!
I wasnt so lucky last October when I got my period the day I checked into hospital for my hemithyroidectomy.
