Hiya guys,
I was re-banded 2 weeks ago, have been relatively pain free but I keep getting pain around my port.
Just wondering how long did yours last? I am seeing my surgeon next week but just thought I would get your thoughts.

Hi Schnookle,
I have not been banded yet, but saw my surgeon for the first time today, lovely chap, anyway we ran through all the pros cons and risks etc. one of the subjects was post op problems and things like infection etc. basically he said any pain or discomfort after the op especially around the port, call my office immediately. So my advice call and demand an appointment asap. Well that's what I would be doing...

My port area has been very painful this afternoon and I know it is just down to stress, when I stopped stressing about the problem the pain lifted.
I also sometimes get it if I am hungry.. maybe I should only eat when I feel the port pain

Its all normal, i am not far off 8 weeks post op and it still sometimes gets achey. Generally only after doing too much, ie the gym. The surgeon said its all normal and it COULD always get achey at time to time as you do have a foreign object in your body. It shouldnt be overly painful though.. Rest up xx

I'm of no help here because I experienced zero shoulder tip, stomach or port pain.
If the port area red and inflamed the go to the hospital straight away, my surgeon
told me a port infection is a very serious matter.

Hi Schnookle
My op was a breeze really, took no pain killers after leaving hospital so think I am fairly tolerant of pain. However, today, seven weeks post op I still get stinging pain (quite sore) at my port site when doing certain things ... like rubbing in body lotion or walking vigourously!
I had my first fill a couple of days ago and he said the pain/disomfort was normal and as they had screwed titanium screws into your muscle (eekk I thought the port was stitched in place) that is really could take a couple of months to settle down for eveything to meld together and move as one withi the muslce!

Thanks guys, very helpful. I am not overly worried because there is no redness or swelling
