Hi everyone

I've been scrounging around here for a while and can now report that in 11 days, I will be a bandit! I've had a week on Optifast so far and haven't found it too bad really. I am getting mine done by Mr Michell from Essendon Private but being done at Epworth in Richmond as I have 4 aneurysms and they need the best back up Intensive Care (just in case).

I am so excited I can hardly wait. I'm trying to not let other peoples horror stories put me off as I am paying for the whole thing myself and am dtermined to make it work.

Stay tuned for updates!

Much love and losses to all x x x

Hi Tamara - my profile pic was taken two years ago (before I gained 40+ kilos). Two years ago I ended up in hospital with 4 anuerysms and that meant that I not only had to stop smoking (a known weight gainer), but also I had to stop gym and so I have gained all this weight. Meanwhile - my profile pic is not my ideal weight at all, in fact, it's not even close. Yes, I did choose a terrible pic to post but it just serves as a reminder to me that I have one hell of a goal insight and to not lose focus.

Hi,
I am meeting with Mr Michell soon - what is he like? What was the time frame between having the appointment and the surgery date? Also, does he make you do optifast, dietician and psych appointments?
Sorry for all the questions!

All the best for the surgery :D

Mr Michell is lovely. Yes, there is a dietician, psych and consulting physician Mr Monk ( he's a doll). Yes Optifast also but he said I could do Tony Ferguson which is way nicer.

My process took ages because I have to have ny Neurosurgeon involved but once it was all sorted probably only about 3 months tops. After my last appointment which was to make the date, it was 3 weeks so very fast.

Best of luck!

CONGRATS on your surgery date and am happy that you are taking charge of your weight battle and getting banded. It can be a nervous wait but you will love the outcome if you stick to the rules :)

I pray that all will go with your surgery and I look forward to seeing your progress and sharing in your successes and NSV's!

Good luck :)

Best of luck to you all. I was banded just over 2 months ago and it is the best decision I ever made. As for before photos... all of us on this site have them!
