Hello all
Im on Day 3 of my pre-op diet and not feeling 100%. Here's a lil mini diary:
Day 1 -
breakfast - kicstart shake -
lunch - kicstart shake
arvo tea - forme yoghurt and whole packet of unsalted mixed nuts (complete fail but I was at work and felt really light headed)
dinner late evening 10pm - chicken and veg stirfry
Day 2 -
breakfast - kicstart shake
lunch - chicken and salad
dinner - lamb and veg stirfry
desert - forme yoghurt
Day 3 - drank 1.5 litres of water between 7-8am for abdominal ultrasound at 9am only to find it wasnt required
breakfast - kicstart shake
lunch - kicstart shake
arvo tea - small amount of unsalted mixed nuts
dinner - chicken tostada salad
I am also taking the following each day:
4 x vit D tabs
1 x multi B
1 x Thermoburn tablet twice a day with food
3 x 1000mg fish oil tabs twice a day
This arvo I became quite lethargic, sick in the stomach and still am 4/5 hours later, some kind of heart burn I think (I can never differentiate with the heart business as I experienced problems last year with tachycardia and the like from thyroid issues) and feeling like I need to pass wind/stool but cant. I freak out thinking Im having a heart attack.
Is all this normal?
Im going to call my surgeon's nurse on Monday and see if I can see her about these niggling things. I have discovered that I definately need to fit my 1 x kicstart shake days on the days I work so I have extra energy and fuel. Im on one shake a day 4 days a week (so 10 x shakes per week for 3 weeks).
In saying all this I do like the shakes!!
Pre-op Diet day 3 and naseaus - is this normal?

Hi Rockabette,
With only my own experience, I felt terrible on the pre-op diet. Weak, dizzy, tired and also my mouth tasted awful. Week 2 was better (Ithink I had given up the will to live by then). I would think that no matter what you are eating now, if it is less than you ate before, then your body is probably thinking WTF? and having a bit of a tizzy fit about it.
Hope all goes well for you.

Thankfully I feel good today and I have lots of energy.
