Tge last couple of weeks I have had a couple of nights where I've awaken abruptly with a horrible taste in my mouth and it's almost like I've breathed stuff in. It's very uncomfortable and after coughing a bit I've gone back to sleep.

Tonight it's been a little different. I've awoken with the reflex taste but there were also bits of acidy stuff in my mouth. It's burnt the back of my throat and my nasal passage. I've gotten up, brushed my teeth but still it's annoying me. I decided to have a couple of rice crackers to get the taste out of my mouth but it's still there. While I was eating I had more of the horrid tasting stuff in my mouth.
Has anyone else had this happen? I'm not thinking a slip as I still have restriction and losing weight but I'm open to any past experiences.
Please help its starting to really worry me. I have an appointment with my dr next week.

Hello :)
You might be overfilled. My doctor always asks me if I get reflux at night or am woken up by it and it could be from a slight (or severe) overfill. I am not 100% sure as I have not experienced this - I used to before I was banded but not after. It is great you have a doctor appointment soon, it must be extremely uncomfortable for you. If it gets worse, call them and try to get even earlier (just in case it is a slip). I hope it gets sorted for you and well done with your weight loss

Night coughing and reflux = overfill

Maybe check with the Dr and get a small amount taken out. Good luck!

you've got reflux - if the band is working okay and you're happy with your fill level, try a liquid antacid at night and sleep with an extra pillow to elevate the end of your bed
