Hi all,
Just wanting to see if there was anyone else out there was is also dealing with the challenges of PCOS?
My dietician has advised me that with my pre-existing condition of PCOS i should expect a longer process with losing weight but in all honestly i have been so impressed with my results so far (coming up to 12kg in a month).
Also in regard to PCOS, has anyone noted a dramatic change in hormone levels??
Thanks,
Nyssa

Hi Nyssa,
I have PCOS as well. Diagnosed when I was 21 and i'm now 30. I need this weight off so my husband and I can have kids.
How is losing weight going with you and your PCOS?
Cheers,
Ness

Hi guys,
Yep, count me in on the PCOS
. Am also loosing the weight to make some babies. I have found in the past that the more weight I loose the better my hormone levels get. At the lowest weight I ever got down to I was told that my hormone levels were nearing normal. I've still got a good 13kg to get back there again.
Good luck guys!

I have PCOS and Endo and I am coming up to 2yrs banded - while I haven't lost the weight quickly it has come off and is staying off.
I think as with everyone you will loose at different rates but for me I have found it a hard slow process but I am glad I haven't given up.
Good luck xx

Hi Ladies
I have PCOS and have struggled with the weight loss - I only seem to lose if I do enormous amounts of exercise and I stay away from carbs or ANYTHING naughty. It's hard, but I've come to terms with it and accepted I can only do my best and gradually the kgs will drop off.
I managed to lose about 25kgs a few years ago taking Reductil + doing approx 14 gym sessions a week. Twice a Day (spin/pump/boxing etc) and that was only giving me 700gram loss a week or so. That is not sustainable to my life so did not keep it off. Band has helped a lot but it is still a lot of hard work. I am just pleased I have not put on weight as pre band I was putting weight on each week consistently. .
Congrats on the 12kg loss! That is wonderful!

Thanks for all the feedback. It is good to see that although it has still been hard it is actually working for all of us.
I am only 23 years old and was given a preliminary diagnosis in my early teens and a definite diagnosis about 2.5 years ago now.
I am currently single so havnt had to experience the troubles and frustration that is linked with PCOS and trying to concieve. I am hoping with the hard work that i am currently doing i will not have as many or limited issues.
My endocrinologist has advised me that by even losing 1kg is can make all the difference with PCOS.
I wish you all luck and hope that you are all blessed with success soon.

I have/had PCOS and have lost a little over 25 kgs thanks to the band. I am now off Valette and will get my hormones tested in a few months when it's all out of my system. My last ultrasound showed no cysts!
