Hi all
I was banded on the 10th Jan and have had my first fill about a week ago, I had 2ml inserted at the time of the operation and then another 2ml a week ago, so 4ml all up. I can eat everything if I eat slowly, which is good, but I seem to swallow a lot of air and I can be quite uncomfortable until I do a small burp, though some times it just feels like a bit just escapes back up and I can't rally stop it, or don't want to as it makes me feel better. I also think I am somone who generally swallows a lot of air espescially if nervous, and now that there is a restriction I notice it where i didn't before, has anyone else had this problem and what did they do?

I find I burp a lot now, and it seems to help me eat food. There is also a lot of noise in my oesophogus as I eat which is awkward as I have a really quiet work place. I'll be honest, I've been banded for just on 4 years and it doesn't go away and I don't really have a solution. All I can say is teach yourself to do it silently because it makes eating a lot more comfortable!

I got a lot of gas before banding. Am worse now... but it comes out in cool growly noises like a tiger... hehehe, I am so easily amused. Definately feels better getting it out, but being post op still getting it out can be uncomfortable.

Glad to hear the above comments - I'm on day 4 and burping like a trooper - also crampy pains around the diaphragm - like a 'stitch' that moves - raging headaches and mild backache. Is this normal?

Day 8 and still burping like a pro..... and yep, the kids are impressed too :). Pains have gone away only to be replaced by hunger pains - what would I give for a tub of mash & gravy right now...............?
