Hi Everyone
It has been great reading all the info on here about lapbanding. My weight problem started in 2004 after a battle with depression. I was 67kg then and I'm now just over 100kg having struggled since then with my weight. In the last couple of years the best I have done was getting down to 87kg and that was working my ass off with a PT 2-3 times a week and doing other stuff at home myself. I told my best friend today that I was thinking about the lapband surgery, she was very supportive but I have been afraid to say it out loud. I have always been thin and pretty fit so I feel like I have failed by not being able to lose the weight. My next step is to make an appointment to see my GP and talk to her about it - I'm a bit nervous about this also. I live on the southside and was thinking about Justin Greenslade because he would be more convenient being at Greenslopes. I'm 45 and I feel like my life is slipping away because like a lot of other overweight people I hide away.
Well that is me, thanks everyone, I'm enjoying taking in what you all have to say.

Hi Shiraz
How are you going with the food aspect of banding? Congratulations btw. I'd be interested to know how you are going.

Hi Cookie
I'm coming up to my one year anniversary and have no regrets.
It certainly isn't a quick fix but am amazed at how much of life I had been missing hiding myself away!
Good luck wtih your appointments!

Hi Cookie,
Please don't feel like you have failed anyone. You have in fact reached a monumental milestone in deciding it is something you need to discuss with your GP.
Wish you all the best with your journey, I hope you find what you need.
Regards,
Martin.
