you go Brooke!!!
That is awesome news. I know how you feel I had organised a surprise afternoon tea for a friend today and had said I would cook home made sausage rolls- didn't want any and then when we were setting up opened the chicken chips, smelt them and thought there was something wrong woth them cause they smelled awful. Had to get someone to eat one and see if they were ok- they were its just me and my tastebuds not interested- so hope it continues.
I hope you are feeling better- me I am getting better everyday. I spent the first 3 days doped up on drugs which was awful. Have been to my daughters school for home reading twice this week and am apparently going on an excursion to Homebush with my eldest daughter on Friday.

Like you I am soooooo glad the swelling has started to go down and although it has taken me 4 days to loose the weight that I put on from the fliuds they pumped into me I am on the move again its all full charge ahead from here

That's awesome Brooke! I've always been a sucker for yummies, especially savoury stuff, and now at functions when the bulk of the spread is fatty, greasy grub, I'm happy munching on some rice crackers, or having a cup of soup (6 months ago I probably would have gone back for 2nds and 3rds!!) Even now at work, the girls will order in for lunch, but it doesnt faze me-I'm still amazed how much food I used to eat then, and how little i eat now (and am always satisfied!!)
So good on you, and your 10 kilo loss is FANTABULOUS! xx :P

Yay Cass your back! I was getting worried about you. Glad to hear your feeling better, not good that you had to be doped up for three days you poor love, but guess you got a good rest. I seem to have recovered extremely well, wouldn't even know id had surgery cept for the 5 dressings on my belly of course, lol. Even went shopping today, lord help me I have swapped buying foods for just buying everything else...credit card got a beating today, oopsie!

How weird is the whole not wanting food? Chrissy and Mazzles do you find it stayed this way for you or do you have your moments when you want the yum yums?

Ok I cant say im completely innocent, I was at the checkout at woolies and said to my mum "do you think I could buy that cadbury twirl and melt it and drink it?" but then I actually went holy shit I have not eaten a chocolate for a month, and trust me that is a massive thing for this choccy freak. So the naughty thought came but then went again just as easily.

Heres to us and our awesomeness xxx

Yay Brooke, good on you.

I am still a sucker for pastry and cakes even now but I have a little nibble and a small bit and then I'm done. When I have done that at school morning teas and the like, I always end up feeling so full for the rest of the day. Lunch for me is usually an Opti and an orange or something these days so I don't feel too bad if I have a little something extra. As much as anything because it is only a little something extra. In the past I would have munched my way through at least 10 times what I eat now and then gone back to see if there was any more at lunch time as well as eating my lunch. It's such a good feeling to realise where we have come from and how well we're doing now.

Lisa , my dietitian said she wants me to have little bits of things we tended to avoid during past dieting , like the odd bit of cake or biscuite , chocolate etc she said we should not feel we are on diets as this is a life time change and we can`t possible feel we can never enjoy something ...she does only mean occassionally and in a small amout like one biscuite NOT a half a packet lol as my previous bad eating habits were.... :D :?

Hi Brooke, my appetite has definitely changed for the better, I seem to be able to resist food I would normally pig out on with out to much effort which is really great.
Good luck Brooke

Hey Brooke, You go girl!! That's fantastic. It must feel so good to see the changes happening. I am going out with a friend for Coffee today, not sure what I will have... perhaps a Hot Chocolate... haven't had one of those for a while.

Cass, I am glad you are doing better now. I have been thinking of you a lot this week. One week since we became Bandits... Hope this weekend is MUCH less painful than last weekend for you.

Take care girls (& guys) :)

Chris, I remember hearing about this from bandits when I was looking into my own band. I was so addicted to food and never truly believed that it could really take my desire for those big pig outs away. I honestly thought I would struggle to eat the smaller servings and would always be sabotaging myself by sneaking food when no-one was looking or something. But I now know that it is really true. I am so happy with my new attitude to food and the fact that I can have an orange and an orange for lunch and be completely satisfied with that. My body is changing shape and getting smaller and all in all I am just thrilled.

Marion, I hear ya. Your dietitian is completely right. I don't mind allowing myself that one chocolate biscuit or anything because I know I only do it once a week at most compared to past performance of eat half the packet in front of the tv one night and the second half the next night because you know they are there and can't stop them nagging at you. We don't even keep them in the house anymore. Last night I went and did the grocery shopping and this fortnight's luxury was a box of cocopops lol. I know they're not entirely healthy but I think I might have a small bowl for lunch today :-) I'm looking forward to eat and I never thought I'd see a small bowl of cereal as a treat lol. How our minds change.

Brooke, Thanks for sharing this story and letting us reflect on how much we are all changing. I really love my band :-)
