I am in Preston (very close to THornbury) and have only been banded 3 weeks. I work part-time (Tue-Wed-THurs) and am usually free 11am-2pm Mons and Fris (outside this am tied up with my son taking him to and from school). I would be interested in meeting up - anywhere in northern suburbs is fine.

I live in Tullamarine, had my operation on the 15 June 2010........ already very pleased to have made the decision to have had the banding done.....
Weening myself off the panadol and starting to feel a bit more me each day.

Hoping to hear from others in the Northern area who are interested in sharing their experiences or about to make the choice themselves.......

Taking a few weeks off to adjust and enjoy the new me.

Hi. I'm interested in a Northern 'burbs group. I'm in Brunswick. Banded 3.7.10. Should we just set a time and place and see who turns up? I'm thinking a get together to just talk about where we are at with our bands and basically share stories. Who else is interested?
Is this the best forum to find people? Many seem to use the yahoo community for Q&A and connecting.

Hi - yes I would like to - weekends or evenings best for me (I have a young son so need to have his dad on hand to mind him so I can get away). I was banded in May 2010 - started at 153, now down to 143, long way to go but at least I have started....No real probs with it all. Yes the yahoo site is popular, I am on there too, see http://au.messages.yahoo.com/lifestyle/lap-band/ I also started a thread re Inner NOrthern SUburbs meeting up so maybe get some more takers. What about Wed July 28th at 7.30pm at Stuzzi's Cafe in Northcote (if driving go around the block and there's a big carpark behind and you can enter the cafe from there too, otherwise it is close to Northcote train station and situated on High Street where trams stop too.) If doesn't suit - suggest an alternative venue date and time - week days between 8am-6pm are not possible for me personally though. Great News Ladies, so pleased to hear from you online. I dont think make the 28th as I have a appointment after work to do my tax ! It is at 5.30pm in Greenvale, however so if all goes along well my thoughts were that I would make my way across afterwards.

Hey Girls, just thought I'd join the group since I am in Sunbury, I work in Tullamarine 3 days a week. I can't make this week as my hubby is flying to Perth that week for work so Ill be a single mum for a few days.

Hi just myself (Karen aka Stripey) and Runlikeagirl came after all that. Nice to talk to one another - but it really is pretty hard to organise get-togethers! Probs for some for days, some for nights, some weekends. This board is quick and easy which is great!
